Since my OTA upgrade to 10.2.0.1791, my phone refuses to let me type ellipses. Even in typing my OS version just now, it didn't want to let me type the second and third period.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

If you haven't typed anything, you'll see a microphone on key to right of space bar. As soon as you type at least one character or switch to numeric keyboard, that key becomes a period instead.

Does it not for you?
I can write a word and then hit the period three times to make ellipses, can't you? If not, what exactly happens?

Sorry, reading fail for me. I just realized now that you have a Q10 not a Z10. Sorry!

But what does happen for you? You press it again and nothing appears on screen?

What if you long press the M key? Does an ellipses option appear?

This is the most frustrating thing ever. If I press alt-m (period) it will do one of the following:
-allow every second period (so I have to type 6 to make 3) or
-have an ellipses pop-up on the screen so I have to take my thumbs off the keypad to press the ellipses.

Often times after I have made the ellipses it will "autocorrect" it aka delete it forcing me to go back and allow it. Also, it seems to use up more than its characters -- i.e. a short 2 line message with an ellipses will warn me that it will be sent as a 2 page text even though it is less than 160 characters....

How can we contact blackberry to make this right?! The Q10 has a keyboard for goodness' sake, make one little tweak in the OS for us so we can make our ... ... ... !!

haha no, it's the correct term for dot-dot-dot aka period-period-period aka ...............

apparently I use them a lot when I'm texting and this inability to make efficient ellipses is frustrating me to no end. HELP BLACKBERRY, HELP!!!

Go into settings/language and input/prediction and correction / word substitution / + (for new patern)

You may also notice that the double dot.. weirdness can be turned off under language and input settings.

QI ... Ellipses is both plural of ellipse and ellipsis.

I upgraded to 10.2.1.1055 and this problem went away. Really annoying that the OTA upgrade to 10.2.0 made the keyboard so annoying...
