I never had any reboots with my z10. Anyway, if it isn't a loose battery, try reloading the OS with BlackBerry Link.

When exactly is it rebooting? Is it just sitting still, or does it reboot during movement (i.e. in your pocket)? I've noticed that the Z10 might occasionally suffer a random reboot during movement because the battery will come loose momentarily. You can fix this by sticking a piece of business card between the battery and the bottom of the battery slot.

The only random rebooting I have experienced since upgrading to BlackBerry OS 10.2.0.424 is when playing Need for Speed on my BlackBerry Z10.

I've been experiencing a lot of random reboots recently too. At first it was once and awhile and seemed to occur when I threw my phone down on a hard surface but now they happen whenever. It reboots over 5 times a day now. I'm going to update to the newest leaked OS and see if that helps..

I think the several OS updates since the early 10.0.x ones must have solved the random reboots. That's what happened to most people who were having reboots. Phones that still are suffering from this must be having a hardware issue, perhaps a loose battery connection. I would search there first.

    Hi Folks,

maybe this belongs to the power key bug, with Version 10.2. the power key is not disable in the Holster anymore, with 10.1. it works but with 10.2. if you put your bb in a Holster and then in your pocket it could happen that you turn off and on your device. Did you use a Holster?

your phone is under warranty so replace it. it must be hardware issue. i have my z10 for almost a year now and through out the time my phone would reboot three maybe four times. that is it. so this cannot be software issue imo. otherwise everyphone would have the same problem.

After upgrading to the official 10.2 it happens more often (on leaks it happened, but not that often). It reboots independent of whether it is laying on the night table or in my hands in the middle of important action, most often however at night. Happens 1-2 times a week.

I had reboot issues under 10.0, nothing much with 10.1, but since 10.2 I'm now getting multiple reboots a day - and more concerning, some random shutdowns (ie. no reboot, phone just turns off for no reason).

Running 10.2.0.424/1791 on the Rogers network.

Backup your phone and do a security wipe then reinstall most update os available from your carrier.

I had the infamous random reboots in Os10.

OS 10.1 & MR updates (as well as a backup separately of the settings (in Link you can backup fully or settings, setting, etc separately) somewhere in there with a wipe and fresh reinstall of 10.1) fixed this.

I just picked up my Z10, and noticed phone was in the Hub mode with all Hub accounts showing, which don't think left it in before bed. I am sure I last did a text message or was in the app screens...anyways checked in phone settings, sure enough phone says was rebooted at 3:03am! I was asleep at that time, so the phone is now back to random reboots!

Yes. But you can restore it to the official version using the LINK software if you are concerned.

I suffered with the rebooting through 10.0, 10.1, 10.1 MR, 10.2 leaks and then official 10.2. 10.1 MR and subsequent OSes reduced the reboot frequency from a few times a day to once every few days. To be clear, I have done full wipes, but restored my data through Link, except for the upgrade to official 10.2 being in-place.

It had nothing to do with the battery because it would reboot while sitting on my desk unused. I tried taking out the SD card, but it didn't help. I then followed a suggestion on the forums that it might be a bad app causing the problem, so I uninstalled a lot of my apps. That seems to have solved the problem, with no reboots for two and a half weeks. I will wait to have a month without a reboot before drawing a conclusion, though.

Hi, I had the same problem. I bought a Z10 from eBay; I updated it and switched to it; I then used it as my main device and it then started rebooting about 2-3 times a day. I thought that I'd been sold a dud!

And then I did this: I cut a small piece of my business card and placed it down the side of the battery and then the remaining piece of the card I put on top of the battery and popped the case on.

I've not had a reboot since!

Let me know I can send/post a pic.
