I have been having a text message problem for a while now on my z10, messages taking a long time to send, failing etc. I went to advanced settings for text messages and changed it to circuit switch instead of packet switch.

I hope this helps somebody with the same problem.

Thank you for your insight! I am also experiencing significant issues in sms since I loaded 10.2.0.424 (STL100-3).

takes 15-20 sec to select a contact (even if no msg history),
won't show me the typing area (keyboard covers it over),
delay when sending (15-20 sec),

when you instruct me to go to "advance settings for txt msging" … where do I find this menu?

It's because you have to many text messages in the memory. Believe it or not that's the issue. You should delete any thread which is say over a week old and contains more than 150 messages (sent and received) that will clear the buffer for that contact.
