i have a z10 that i may be selling. does the bbm pin change when the phone is reset? i have a few contacts, and it might be confusing to them.

Lol what?! Your pin does not reset on BlackBerry phones, they are device specific(idk about iOS & android). BlackBerry switched BBM to make it go off your BlackBerry id. So if you switch devices, as soon as you log in with your BlackBerry id it will restore your contacts.

No, PINs are permanent on the phone. You will just register your new PIN in BBW when you change devices.

I guess I figured he would be buying a different brand of device. If I was ditching BlackBerry, I'd tell them why and delete them, so they don't have a dead contact on their list.

I think they do. When I changed from a Curve to Z my pin changed but all my contacts got ported over and my contacts didn't notice any change.
Maybe there's some background magic with your BlackBerry ID.
