It's funny how when it comes to executive contracts, "a contract is a contract", but when a company struggles, it's fair to alter employee/union/pension contracts...

If BlackBerry agreed to it, then he deserves it.

They should have had a few performance clauses in the contract. Especially with TH not really being a CEO to begin with. But the whole corporate culture of BlackBerry was that they could do no wrong and the failure was not even a possibility... so a performance clause never entered into the picture.
