I am seriously unimpressed with the 10.2 update for my Q10. I love my Q10 but I hate 10.2 so far because of the sms bugs and lag. I have never reverted to an older OS on any OS before, whether it be BB10 or android. Can someone post the steps to reverting to 10.1 please? Also, is there more than 1 way of reverting to 10.1? \

Also, the 10.2 version I am using is not a leak and is the official version from Bell.

    Thanks for the help!

I have already reloaded 10.2. I've done everything I could to fix 10.2, now just i want to go back until they release a better .2 version.

Am also experiencing same annoying lagging & freezing problems with BlackBerry 10.2. I understand many experience the same. Just wondering how BlackBerry can allow this to happen without taking action, very frustrating to us who would want to stick with BlackBerry despite calls by my friends to just move on to another system though I have stick to BlackBerry for more than 10 years now.

What OS are you guys using? If by any chance you are running 10.2.1.575 or above on a Q, I suggest you go to 10.2.0.1791.

10.2.1 is a features branch. Our group does a lot of testing and the Q needs to stay away from that branch. It doesn't always work right. 10.2.0.1791 is bugs and fixes branch. This is why it's always more stable. The 1791 is an official MR (maintenance release).

    I hope this helps.

I've been experiencing lag on my Q10 also - on 10.2.0.424 (the OFFICIAL release, via Link). I'm also getting multiple letters from a single press... odd.

I've security wiped the phone, and reinstalled the os - using Link - to no avail.

Would downgrading help, or would it be better to use a more recent leak?

You do realize that these are leaks right? They are not meant to be installed as daily drivers. Some have issues and some don't. You can't blame BlackBerry for this because they never released it in the first place.

Get a z30 cuz 10.2 runs well on it

Seriously though good luck finding the answers. If I had a q10 I might be able to give suggestions.

How much time has passed since you reloaded the OS? Did you try using the autoloader form the leaks forum? The multiple letters is a new one...is it the same letter or any letter at any given time?

3hb78ftg makes a great point. A freshly installed OS sometimes takes 1-2 days for it to settle. During this period you'll experience quicker battery drain, hotter phone and an overall sluggishness.

I didn't know it took a day or two to settle - I just held the power button down (till it cycled through to start up), after the phone had been on for fifteen minutes!

It's certainly not hot now, just a little laggy - but, as you say, it may take a day or two! Thanks for the advice!

Does SMS crash or take a longtime to open? Some have experienced this issue when they have a huge chain of back and forth SMS conversation. If this is the case, delete older conversations.

Yep, my dad has been experiencing the same issues.. I'd suggest 2 things either download a 10.1 autoloader and load it up (mind you your back up from 10.2 will not work) or try backing up ur device and try running an autoloader to reload the OS rather than doing it via link.. be sure to run the autoloader and then do a security wipe..

Report back and let us know if u find a solution, Goodluck!

It doesn't crash on me or anything. It just takes forever to load something. It is especially slow when it is the composed message from the CONTACT app. If I am texting using the TEXT MESSAGE app it is not so bad. However sometimes it lags real bad when I click a conversation with a certain person, and a different conversation appears.

EX: I am talking to person A and person B through a texting conversation. I reply to person B's text message. when i back out of that conversation and move on the person A's message, Person B's message would appear instead of person A.

I have downgraded back to 10.1 because of multiple issues also. Mainly because Spotify runs so much better on 10.1. Can't live without it. Anyway. The easiest way to reload your stock 10.1 software I have found is to start the autoloader for your 10.2 leak and when the command line in the autoloader says that it is writing unplug your phone. This will soft brick the phone. Then open BlackBerry Link on you computer and plug your phone back in. Link will ask you if you want to reload your OS. Click reload and the original 10.1 stock OS for your phone will reload. I have done this several times. It is quick and easy. Good Luck.
