This is an official install from BlackBerry so it will definitely be locked.

Cool to see this happening though, great initiative on BlackBerry's part. Why wait for carrier approval of an OS update when you can send simple fixes as bar files through app world.. I like it.

If I wasn't running a leaked unlocked version, I would. If for no other reason then once installed you'll get updates if they ever bump up the version.

I am on official OS. Z10STL100-2/10.2.0.1791.

Indeed, if they push out annotate then I will be getting the latest version. By the way this is the first time I have seen BlackBerry sending the Android runtime in BlackBerry World. Correct? I think it is a great move as it allows BlackBerry to update android runtime without pushing out a new OS update

I sincerely hope this will not show up as "uninstallable" in BBWorld... That would just be asking for more problems, with people who think they do not "need" parts of the OS. If they ever decide to update more core parts of the OS through BBWorld, making them permanent is a pretty obvious thing to do.
(I think it is highly inadvisable to remove core parts of the BB10 OS, it is not similar to removing bloatware on BB7 or earlier.)

This is not a fix. My o2 ( mobile carrier app) an android port was closing straight after opening it before. This runtime that addresses that issue exactly has not cured the problem for that app or we chat which closes every time I press contacts.

Also, temple run now says android runtime has stopped working where it was working before. I'm guessing cos the runtime is locked whatever the f**k that means

BlackBerry need to fix the fix.

This is so frustrating. The amount of troubleshooting just to get apps to work on this thing os is unacceptable... unacceptable from a consumer point view. As if the average Joe is even gonna bother side loading apps or even knows how to do it... what is going on.

At least Snapchat works.. of course there r no notifications when u recieve a Snapchat cos this is a blackberry. I mean android port.

Go to another platform I hear u say??

I think this is why the whole world are on other platforms!!!

To me there is no difference between the original 10.2 official release and this new runtime. The debug method was restricted on official 10.2 release and on this one as well. In 10.1, the debug method worked like a charm without too many issues.

If you want to try to get most apps and games to run now, you really need to look an unlocked leaked version and if you want an unlocked version that doesn't do a wifi check initially then you're going to be stuck with the dreaded permanent bar... That's what I've determined so far...

Have you got Probe the Humans, Temple Run OZ, Pitfall, Temple Run (original) and TR Brave to run?? I had all those running on 10.1 without issue.. there is no 10.2 runtime (locked or unlocked with debugging method) that I've been able to get these to work...

I agree if you want to get the most to run.. you got no choice but to go with the unlocked leaks.. but it nowhere works even close to what the debug method did in 10.1

no...i dont try these games, i run skype, shazam, tapatalk, mega ,motogp, candy crush, instagram, instaweather,ppsspp. gmaps, copilot.

Correction Temple Run 2 works with the debug method on this one.. you need version 1.4.1 apk... OLD Faithful

If you would not mind, where did you get that one? There seem to be so many running around or referenced. The one I'm running does not allow android apps access to wifi.

Just downloaded this and my Temple run and Firefox browser stopped working.. so painful.. I gatto go reinstall the unlocked leak
