I'm experiencing really sh!tty battery life, from the 10-12 hs I was getting on my MS-1 battery I'm getting 3 maybe 4hs... I figured my battery was 'broken' so I bought another battery, one that should last for 1 or 2 days (that 2430 mAh)... and I'm getting like 7-8hs.

So I was thinking, maybe it's my OS? should I try to load a 'new' one? I have installed the latest from austria, something like .749

    any advice?

    thanks!

Get a real original battery instead of your counterfeit. The MS1 is rated at 1550mAh not 2430, so your battery is probably bogus and nowhere near the capacity of a genuine battery. It is almost impossible to get 2430mAh into the physical size of the MS1.

Plus it never hurts to upgrade the OS when a newer version is available.

    Hello,
I bought a few MS-1 batteries in the past, and ALL of them were counterfeit batteries, that lasted 12 hours max, if not less. At 40%, my BB would shut down, as empty as my wallet is at the middle of the month.
I then bought a Mugen battery and now I can use it for more that a day and a half and it won't shutdown before reaching 10%
Better put a little more money in a good battery brand than on those fake MS-1.

this is the one I bought
    New 2430MAH Gold Business Battery for Blackberry M S1 Bold 9000 9700 9780 | eBay

I upgraded my OS to the .756 version and still works like crap, with both original MS-1 and the other battery.
Like LeKeiser both batteries shut down when get close to 40%, and when I try to reboot the phone suddenly the battery is less than 10%. Really weird... so I guess it's not a battery problem, nor a OS problem... what then?

Sounds like a battery issue. Far to many fakes around. I run .666 and can get four or five days out of it if I am careful. I have Bluetooth disabled, and reduce the screen brightness. Other than that don't do anything too special. Not that .756 should be much different to that.

Also be aware if you are in a bad reception area the battery can get run down very quick if the internal transmitter is having to boost too much.

But a battery that dies at 40%... sounds like a lemon to me. Just looked at your EBay link - at $6 that is clearly a lemon. Even a quick check of the feedback shows a lot of upset people pointing out that batteries are wrapped in fancy stickers to hide what the really are.

Totally sure also that it's a battery problem. Especially when bought on Ebay. Get a Mugen one, it's a really good one. Can't find any real MS-1 on the net anymore
