Hey why is there a back button on the apps and all when u can swipe right to go back, that much screen space is wasted right?!

Some folks want a back button or bar. There was a great deal of debate on a thread that I remember from a while back.

The swipe doesn't work on stuff done in air or webworks, iirc.

Even in native apps if you want to use certain gestures in the UI you have to disable the right swipe to go back for those parts of the screen. There is the ability to hide the bottom bar so that screen space isn't lost or wasted if the program is coded correctly.

No, it is also an option in Cascades applications. Look at a large web page in Reader mode and scroll up. You should see the bar go away until you reverse scroll direction. All Cascades applications can do that if the developer wants, one line of QML does it. Like everything on BB10 it is adaptive. So if all the content fits on the page with the bar there it won't auto hide. It kicks in when you scroll a certain amount, but only if the developer has enabled it.

Here are two screen shots from one of my applications that implements this:

What about CB10, y do this app need it, Evan they can develop an auto hide feature for it at least? N the back bars size is a bit large.

You'll have to ask the CB10 developer.
