I am a bit confused... I thought the 424 update was based on the 1791 version...but now I read in the threats there are differences...?

What is the difference between these two versions? (Other than one being an official update and the other being a leaked one)

    Thanks!

424 is the software release version, 1791 is the OS number

    Ok thanks.

So in terms of features and functions they are identical?

So, should I still load the leak? What would I gain?

(Excuse my ignorance...new to these leaks and side loads)

It is the most stable leak out there. That's why it's official. I am running it and I have tried the others but always come back to 1791.

Agreed...I'm not wasting my time trying to be on the carrier released version. I'm very happy with the OS Leak 1791 on both my Zeds

    Guys,
The leaked OS 10.2.0.1791 is the same OS that got released officially after the carriers finished there testing ( except the US carriers, they are so slow to finish testing) .
If you have installed the leaked version that's fine or you can go to software update and check if some Apps from your carrier is missing.
But the core OS and radio must match :-)

    I personally went from 1767 to 10.2.1.575 so I can't comment on 1797 but I'm sure it's a great build

Does anyone know what it means that after a full upgrade via Sachesi (nondestructive) to 1791/1792 radio that it still shows software version 415? Does it matter?

I just updated OS 424 on Airtel network in India through Sachesi tool using Vodafone (015) UK (234). Everything went very smooth. No hassels of backup and restore. Even all email accounts are intact and working. Great way of updating OS.

SW version sticks for some reason when updating with Sachesi. Try rebooting a couple times and seeing if it bumps up to 10.2.0.424. Or checking for updates in the settings, I can't remember exactly which one updates the SW version.

Agree. So did I upgrade using Sachesi with the Rogers 424. It's just that it still says software version 415 but with the 1791/1792 OS and radio versions. Others have had this, too. I just don't know what it means, if anything. I wonder if I should reload the OS with Sachesi?

I just traded in my Z10 that I had just upgraded last week to 424 for a Z30 that has 210 as as OS. When I do a software check it says it's the latest version. I don't have a problem, just curious. Is 210 the OS native to the Z30 and what are the differences? Thanks.
