I have been lurking for the past couple of weeks due to my company finally providing me with a REAL phone!
After reading tons of valuable information here I went into my local Best Buy today and found a Bold dummy. After several minutes playing with it a sales manager came over and provided some specs, one being the fact that they had several in stock. He specifically told me that they will begin selling them on the 27th. Something to do with final approval from management. He would not provide anything more than that.
Cost listed at the store was $349/$679 w/o contract.
My first impression was that this unit was pretty small and not as impressiveas I thought it would be but to it's defense - it was a dummy.
As I am totally new to BB's I hope that I will find this unit as impressive as many of you already have. From the sound of it the specs are definately there, It's just that it's physical appearance just didn't move me.
the Bold is an amazing phone, although i have a friend at best buy and he swears they come out today, i highly doubt that best buy would get it before att. thanks for listing the price, you make a third person to back up what i had posted on monday. thanks
I talked to an Best Buy Mobile manager today. He said that they will have to wait until it is released by ATT to sell it. Which he said was the 4th of November (which everyone here knows is the release date). He asked if I was interested in the phone and I said very. He told me to hold on and went to the back. When he came back he had a boxed up ATT bold. He took it out and I got to play with the phone for about 30 minutes. It was the biggest kick in the balls when I had to leave it with him. It felt smaller than the 8800. Also. As mentioned before, the screen is AMAZING!!

i kinda did the same thing, i got to see it and they were nice enought to put me on the calling list for when it comes out. haha
Heck... I already know of a store that has them. To tell you the truth, two have already been sold to the managers that work there, lol... They bought it after closing!
And no it's not an AT&T store (only leaves one other), lol.
