I have updated my iphone 5 to ios 7.0.3 and BBM to 1.0.2 when i try to open my BBM contacts from bottom as soon as tap BBM crash..

So i am not able to start new chat with anyone....

Tried to delete chat history from settings but still facing problem...

Its not about current chat page its about contact page where nothing is related to ios Fonts..........

I have the same issue, But i must admit thought besides the contact list issue the app moves faster sends and recieve messages faster... just need that one issue fixed

Just a thought but have you tried changing the contacts layout from Grid to List within BBM settings, see if this brings it up? I'm not having the issue on my iPhone 5c though so can't confirm if it will resolve or not.

Tried that, doesnt work, also in the app store itunes people are complaining about this problem

I too have the same issue. However I have two iPhone 5's - mine and one for the better half! Both upgraded to the latest version of iOS and both have the latest BBM update running. My iPhone5 is fine, the other one crashes as soon as you select Contacts.

Is it possible one of your contacts has not upgraded?
I remember reading the issue was a font removed from ios. So if an old contact has a status in that font, maybe bbm transmits it over, and boom.

Work around for this issue, Go to the chats tab ---> then press the 3 dots----> then select start chat------> Select the contact from that list..

Next to you profile name in the right hand corner there is a + to select a contact.

nop I did not have categories before, and still crashes only can add converstions thru + on the top right.

Got a workaround! Create a new id the app wont crash. Problem is with our old id some contacts in old id r not supporting the fonts used in ios version.

If u invite your contacts again it will crash cause he said it crashes because some contacts still use the old font, I'm not sure if that sounds logical but who knows.

With my old id I logged in to another phone and deleted all my old contacts who I think could hv created problems. Bang u go all working fine now.

so is the supposed solution to get people to update their app, and then change their user name so it uses the new font?
