hello crackberry nation, i create this thread for people to post their questions about BBM and get answers from crackberry people

just like my query here
Question : Who can see my updates? for example I changed my picture, who can see it? or if I joined a group, who can see that I joined the group, people within the group or all my BBM contacts can see that I joined certain group?

what do you mean? for example I joined group, in my update who can view it? only the people of the group or all my BBM contacts? if I change picture, all my contacts can see update that I change my profile picture right, but when I join group who will be notified by update, who can see that I joined group?

Your personal contacts AND the people in your group can see when you change your picture, or other status.

The people in the group can see that you have joined (and left) the group, but your personal contacts DO NOT see what group(s) you have joined.

In a Bbm group chat. Once I send a message, are you supposed to see the 'D' or even 'R' when atleast one person in the group views it?

Thats normally the case. Oh! Turn off the option where friends can see what youre listening to. Those late night Kei$ha dance parties arent anyones business.

No, the 'D' and/or 'R' don't show up in group chats. Depending on how each person has their notifications set up, they will (eventually) see what you have posted and will probably respond.

hey guys, I downloaded and signed up for the BBM app on iOS yesterday, but never got the email to start using it. anyways, I kept trying to hit "I got my email" periodically and it finally let through to "start enjoying BBM"

As a user ID, it requested that I put in my email, which I did. As it turns out, this email is already taken? perhaps this could be because I used this email many years ago when I was using my Bold? Accepting this inconvenience, I decided to use an alternative email address. This worked. But after filling out all of the information including service agreements, my phone got stuck on "setting up BBM" for like 30 minutes. I force closed the app and restarted it, and it then got a red exclamation mark with "temporary server error"
after another force close it now says "a temporary BBM error has occurred" with red exclamation mark.

I will also like to add that after trying a different email as a BalckberryID, I did receive an email asking for confirmation, which I did confirm.

Can't wait to get started with this app and I was wondering if anyone else had these issues and a solution.

Many people have issues. The only solution offered is restart, and assuming that doesn't work, wait.

Question.. a friend with an iPhone installed the BBM app. Works great, however he is getting bombarded with Invites from people he doesn't know, and from countries in the middle east and African countries.

Is there a setting on the iOS app that can block this? I've had a blackberry for the last 7 years and have never had such happen to my BBM.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm also having trobule with bbm chat specifically in bbm group chat. The bbm "time" does not sync. Should all member have the same time in their phone clock?? Since if one person has an advance time, all his response are shown in the bottom part of the group chat. Its very confusing.

I have a question what is the limit for bbm group members? Is it 30 or 40? Cause I always thought it was 30 but one of my groups have 32.

No, BBM is only allowed on one device with the same BlackBerry pin. You see a lot of complaints about this, but you also see the other side support the fact that you can only have it on one device. It is for security reasons that it is not on more than one device. Once the message is off the BBM server and on your handset it is "off" their server. Hope this helps.

Try typing in the above but after the / fill in the contacts actual pin. This is the link I received from a new Android contact and it worked for me. (I'm on the blackberry z10). I hope this helps.

Ok, i'm good to go!
I restarted the phone. This did not solve the issue. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. this did not solve the issue either, but I at least prompted me to sign up again. I signed up again, rebooted again, and forced closed the app a few times. This FINALLY allowed me to start using the app! never have I ever gone through so much trouble to install an app before, but I think its probably worth it since now I'm in!.. How do I go about getting back my old BBM friends? I know some have already dropped off from blackberries, but I had some contacts in south america, that should still be on there. how will I search them out? I still have my old BB pin, but not my old Bold phone.
