Hey guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know about my Z30 experience so far. Got my device Saturday morning, October 19. It's now Monday morning, the 21st and I have yet to charge it.

I use it fairly heavily. 100+ emails a day, BBM quite often, texting, and quite a bit of web browsing and I watched a number of movie trailers over the weekend.

I'd say i'm over 20+ hours of combined usage and the phone it just hitting the 10% battery life now. That will be it's first charge.

I think Blackberry now has the best battery life of any smartphone. Also those new speakers are fantastic! Very loud and clear.

Mine was like that when I got it, been a few weeks, in the last 48hrs, it's been draining pretty quick, anyone else have this issue? No changes on settings or running apps or usage patterns. On a full charge, without use, is draining within a couple of hours.

If anyone has a fast battery drain...
A soft reset/restart solved the problem for me...

Press volume up and down at the same time till it resets!

I spent ages going through a checking side loads and native apps for permissions etc after I noticed the cpu usage was around 50% with no real joy until soft reset...see pic attached and note before/after cpu spike!

After the reset...1 and a half to 2 days use is expected and is brilliant!

I am blown away by the battery on my Z30. It is outstanding. On my Z10, running various OS releases there were some days of heavier use where I was needing to charge at bedtime...not all the time mind you, but some days. The other day I took my Z30 off the charger at 7am. Throughout the day I was texting, emailing, picking players for my work hockey draft with the browser, my friend's son played a few levels of Angry Birds, and my friend's daughter watched an episode of Dora on Netflix (Android port). At 11pm I checked my battery and it was still at 70%. I like this. A lot.

I personally would not have minded a thicker Z10 with a bigger battery but its great on 10.2 or at least enough for most before a good chance to charge somewhere.

When should you charge your battery? I usually do it at 20% when the bar turns yellow and the warning comes up. Should you let it go right down into the red zone before charging?

I too am very pleased with my new Z30. It arrived Monday this week and after spending Mon night getting it up and running with new sim activation and data transfer it was charged overnight. Removed from charger at 8am Tuesday morning and now at nearly 2pm on Thursday it still has 32% left! Great battery life I would say. Hate having to be tied to a charger all the time.

Just got mine and just plugged it in to charge as it was almost empty ;-) let s see how long it lasts! First blackberry ever !

Well, I'm not that pleased. Of course is a great advantage compared to my Z10, but I usually have to charge it every night at 22-23h, while my z10 didn't last more than 19:30h



Don't know how you get 2 days.. do you actually use it? Or is it just me for using it constantly? XD
