Well according to Rogers' trade up quote, the BlackBerry Z10 is worth $50 more than the Samsung Galaxy S4. Both of these devices are supposedly locked to Rogers. Don't get me wrong, I'm not interested in leaving my Z10, I love it!! I'm just curious. This is interesting because you would normally think that a more popular device would be valued more.

When the program launched, they were taking the Z10 Verizon model for 221 and AT&T/Bell/Rogers/Telus model for 209. So the price valuation decreased slightly.

Yeah, but the locked to Rogers model isn't worth as little as the AT&T one (it's $183!)

I would never use this service, it's about half of or at least $100 less than what you can sell for on Kijiji, and that's "if" your phone is in great condition.

Edited to add: at least a min of a $150 cheaper than I see on Kijiji here in Alberta.

Thing is, no one really knows when a new BlackBerry will be released. However, we know a new Galaxy S will be out later this year. It's no guessing or surprises.

Since this is the "trade-up" value, maybe offering MORE for a device makes people a little less reluctant to give it up? If I trade in my Samsung I'm only getting $150, but if I give up my BlackBerry, I'm getting $200. It's a conspiracy! (Okay, that last bit was a joke.)

Samsung phones tends to devaluate quickly. Buy a $300 phone now and next month you can buy the same model at $250. It's Samsung's fault actually. The more new phones they push out, the cheaper their old models get.
