Make sure Skype settings is not set to Sync Contacts. It causes a mess. I suspect you installed Skype twice and that's the result of the dupes.

Delete the dupes and reinstall Skype and please use a 4.x bar. The Preview is terrible and still based on 3.x look and feel. Skype has just fallen thru the cracks. BlackBerry should just remove the app from app world as its really poor.

For me it was solved as mentioned on another thread of the above, by installing the new Android runtime from BlackBerry World.

So this is the fix? Just install the new runtime? Did you have to delete skype or clean up your contacts?

I'm 10.2.0.1791. No joy here either. I think we should blow up on this forum link:

Does it give you a do not sync option before finalizing your install? I can't remember. I need Skype. But my last install a 2 months ago was a complete disaster!!! Honestly, I'm scared to install it again. Frankly, I'm waiting for an update which is taking forever.

I am currently in 1925. As always I keep the setting in no-sync.
Of course skype will sync. At least this time it syncs only once. At least up to now.

To answer your question, no. There is no option during installation. You just have to be very fast.
I have given up hope and I patiently wait for voice and video chat on xBBM and also for Windows phone xBBM version to cover my needs and delete Skype.
When xBBM becomes fully functional, I believe Skype will shrink a bit.

Sadly, the only way o managed to fix this was by rolling to 10.2.1. No amount of settings, skype updates and reboots did the trick.

On 10.2.1, it didn't matter if it was from BlackBerry World or sideloaded. No more clones.

Banish skype from BBW? But Thorsten promised it last year.

Truly, this needs to fixed so it works on all BB10 devices and OS.

I am also on 10.2.1.1925 with "Sync All" set. And am not having the duplication issue but keeping a watch on it. (I do have it on another Z10 running the released OS and the issue is there - and have turned off Syncing.)

Some good news in that it works with 10.2.1

Waiting for the update on Rogers to load on my ATT device via Sachesi.
