I see a fair amount of similarities between how it works and the Z10 based on some observations of friends who use it. Anyone have a Surface to compare? I know the features will be different, but the overall experience and access points seem so similar.

We're using Surface Pro in clinic to run the EMR... the UI feels very different than my Z10 To he honest.

The Surface Pro was horrible for me so I returned it and I'm still using my z10 with my Fujitsu Lifebook Tablet PC with windows 7. The z10 is more user friendly and intuitive than the Surface in my opinion.

My lifebook has more memory than the Surface and seems faster too. It's also pen enabled, has a builtin DVD+/rw drive, bluetooth, three USB ports, headphone jack, microphone jack, HDMI port, SD card slot, serial port, cat5 cable port, full size spill resistant keyboard, intel core i3, fingerprint security scanner and integrated webcam for video chat.

So there you go. Interesting... it is difficult, to adjust to anything very new.

I have a Surface Pro and the Z10. I don't see much that's similar except they both have touch screens and use gestures. On the Surface to close an app you swipe down, opposite of the Z10. BB10 and Windows are not even close.

I have a Surface Pro and I am very happy with it. Gestures are different but that doesn't prevent me from learning a few new things. I'm not that old of a dog...

Don't have a surface, but a windows 8pro tab... the swipe up vs swipe down screws me up more than anything. seems so minor, but I'll sit there swiping away on my tab wondering why I can't close things!

Our Surface Pros freeze often and can get very warm, could be because the EMR is Ram intensive... don't know.

Did you just compare Windows 8 to BlackBerry 10??

That's bad and you should feel bad.

I set up my wife with the surface RT over a month ago. With the type keyboard (with actual real keys) and the latest 8.1 update... it's quite a nice tablet. I'm not saying that it's perfect, but having real Office is nice, and the size and build are good. The interface is about as unintuitive as any Windows, but at least it is pretty fluid. I love the Bing News app... I think it might be better than Flipboard.

That being said, it's not even close to BB10 as far as integrated/efficient communication goes... but that's ok, there's a right tool for every job.

especially with Windows 8.1, made a huge difference. The Z10 and win8 do not function the same at all. I find myself using the BB10 gestures on the surface by accident often, but that's cause I use my phone more often than my tablet.

Annoying as heck when using a mouse (like most people) and the complete opposite of BB10.

Would you find it annoying if you were to use a mouse on bb10?

I love windows 8 on a tablet. The gestures work well.

    Yes, I would.

On a tablet Windows 8 is awesome. Can't say the same for on a laptop or desktop PC.
