How to setup Blackberry Playbook VPN

Please use the following settings to setup the IPSEC VPN:
Go to Settings
Security
Add New VPN Profile

Server Address: bb.vpntraffic.com (this is US vpn)
Gateway Type: Cisco Secure PIX Firewall VPN
Authentication Type: XAUTH-PSK
Group Username: ipsec
Group Password: ipsec
Hard Token: leave unchecked
Username: Enter your VPN Username
Password: Your VPN Password


Click save and connect You should now be connected to the vpn.

You can't do OpenVPN or PPTP with the PlayBook so that makes it useless with most online providers. It's only good if you have a corporate setup.

Yup. I am trying to connect to the University through VPN. I am even connected in a flash but the Internet doesnt work. I've tried all other VPN options on the playbook but they dont work.

yes. cisco ipsec can be used on Playbook. check my tutorials.

There are many reliable providers that accept payment by Bitcoin, Webmoney and some other anonymous payments methods that might be available in your jurisdiction.
I'm not sure about vpntraffic as I've personally subscribed to Purevpn.com and remember they have a Bitcoin option as well but I'm sure you can find many old names with such payments methods If you do some googling.

I recently set up hide.me free 2Gb VPN on my playbook.

There are a couple of things different for setting it up than this tutorial, and the setup guide per hide.me shows.

The first is the server address location, which will be "free-nl.hide.me" (There are others to choose from. I chose this particular server) and the Gateway CA certificate which is the "DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA". Other than those two minor details, the setup is the same as shown on hide.me's BlackBerry setup screens.
