    HI,

I have an issue I don't need to get in detail to (connection keeps dropping, no data sign ever, No 3G, or E, etc..). At any case, I remember a very old version which never produced this problem: it's 10.0.10.82. I'm currently running 10.1.0.4780 as the official carrier version.

Bricking and reloading the OS from BB link puts the 10.1.0.4780 version (and nothing earlier). How can I downgrade beyond that?

PS: I have Z10 STL-2 on du (UAE) network.

    Thanks for your help!!

I probably have an autoloader lying around for 10.0.10.82, but the question is can you revert back to it? Later versions of BB10 can add older versions to a blacklist, preventing them from being loaded. As an example, I'm running 10.2.0.1767, but I can't revert to any OS earlier than 10.1.0.1483 (which includes all of 10.0).

If you have a copy of cap.exe handy (it comes with Darcy's BlackBerry Tools, or you can download it here), you can run "cap info" from a command line and figure out which OS versions are blacklisted.

I strongly recommend you try 10.2.0.1767.
It is a robust build and works nicely on my 100-2.

    Thanks thurask.

That's exactly the question, whether or not I can revert back to it!!

I am not very familiar yet with this cap41.exe (did download it, but didn't figure out the blacklisted OSes).

Since you seem to be quite knowledgeable about this, the answer I've concluded from your reply is that there is no straight forward way (or some process at least) for downgrading to any earlier version you want.

    Hmmm....

My friend, I've tried 10.2.0.1767 with no luck!

The only way I've ever succeeded to resolve this data dropping issue is:

eScreens > 3GPP Radio > Utilities > click "PS Attach"
(My earlier thread on this: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...du-uae-813020/)

Problem is you have to repeat this everytime the phone restarts or you go out of coverage.

This sucks and I am really sorry to read.
Any chance this might be a hardware failure or do other people have it in UAE as well?

Maybe (and if you agree) a mod should change the title to something like "Z10-UAE-service dropping" and see if there are other fellows who have the same problem as you.

The reason I am excluding device failure is that it was working fine when on 10.0.10.82, any version after that didn't work for me.

Yes, by all means the mods can change the topic. The source of the problem is not downgrading rather data connection dropping.

    Thanks!

Well, if you've tried 1767 previously then your blacklist is the same as mine.

You could try loading a different radio over 1767 and seeing if there's any difference.

Great idea! I guess I could try 1767 with radio from 10.0.10.82 where to start ? Kinda a newbie when it comes to building a hybrid, Sachup?

I don't think a 10.0 radio would work on 10.2, the version difference is too great. I believe your options for radios are 10.2.0.1048 and up (1048, 1156, 1372, 1444/1522, 1726/1744 and 1762/1768). Start with 1048, I've read some good things about it.

If you want to build a hybrid OS, you can do so without having to reload the OS every time by loading 1767 with the 1768 radio with the autoloader, then creating an autoloader with Darcy's Tools of just the right radio .signed file (there's a bunch in the link in my signature). Once you have your radio-only autoloader, run it as you would any other autoloader and your phone will have the new radio.

Thanks for the tips thurask. I will fiddle with all of this and report back :-)
