Hi Guys, been reading for a loooooong time, tried searching, but I can't find my issue, which I find very strange, and it's a big issue, since my Z10 is my daily connector/communicator (best phone i've used, including tryouts of s3, s4 and lumia). I've actually become dependent of the gestures for getting things done fast and efficiently

The thing is, I can't get the camera to work on ANYTHING over 10.2.0.1047 (squircle love!), since any newer leak gives me the issue of "The Camera can't be Started", tried with versions .1521, .1761 and .1767. The thing is, the instant I reload .1047 it works flawlessly! (even got the 10.2.1.xx camera .bar installed and working without glitch!)

Summary of tries (repeated systematically on all 3 versions mentioned above):

install OS-restore
install OS-no restore
security wipe--install OS--Security wipe--no restore (tried even the reboot many times, launched camera app various times, even 15 minutes battery pull (reminded me of 9300 days)
security wipe--install OS--restore
security wipe--install OS--no restore

I've tried on every version using the stock runtime, and installing the unlocked runtime, to no avail

I extracted the camera .bar from the autoloader and installed it on newer versions (no luck)
I've extracted the camera .bar form the newer OS (1521, 1761, 1767) and installed in 1047 and works!

Sideloading done using Sachesi b22 (preferred), and tested with chrome's BB10/Playbook App Manager. No difference in results.
.bar extraction done with Darcy's BB Tools

maybe I'm missing something essential, maybe it's a known bug (which I haven't found info about, yet), but that's why I ask form help from fellow affectees, or more knowledgeable BB lovers.

On every version over 1047 it won't start, giving me the message "The camera cannot be started", on 1047 works like a charm...

I used the camera yesterday at midday and come nightime it says the same as above. And I have tried all that u all tried

I had a similar issue... when I was using the 10.1 MR my camera was fine... as soon as I loaded a 10.2 leak my camera wouldn't start.... or it would start but lock up after I took a picture. I discovered that it was an issue with my SD card and 10.2. I can take pictures and save them to the internal memory.... the camera will work as expected. I'm pretty sure if I wipe my memory card and reformat it in the device it will work again... I just haven't bothered to do that.... so for now I save to internal memory then transfer pics to SD card.

I would say just to see if this is the actual issue change u r settings to save to device memory... OP

I will try that tonight when I get home and report, (will do that on the 1047, then backup so it gets reloaded on restore).

I'm using the last leak available for the 100-1 (.1767) and I never had this issue. I load every leak available. Had a camera issue a while back and found out it was a sideloaded app that was causing it to go fubar not the leak itself ( coincidentally it was. 1047).

I also had a couple of separate sd card issues as it turns out. Went to a programmer for answers. He steered me to the Patriot SD Cards. Never had another issue at all on any phone (all brands and models) or computer again! He said he has had zero returns at his store with this brand. (San Disc has some returns for corrupted data.)

Hey guys, the problem seems to have been fixed (Yay!), what I did was move EVERYTHING from the SD to the device (SD left blank), then backed up and installed .1767, upon opening it worked! then did a restore and still worked! then installed the 2.1.xx camera and STILL WORKING!

What I can say is what? maybe an SD compatibility issue...... Thanks everyone for the help, special mentions to BermudasBest and Gearheadaddy....

Had this issue with a friend of mine, the c�mara work great for a few times on 10.2 the. Stop working, but If I make a downgrade to 10.1 start working without problems, I do take to the place they sale it to me. They open it and say they change the c�mara but the only thing they did was a downgrade, when I was making the updated and the z10 stop working lime it should a tell them I will nos accept that device and give a new one, that is a device hardware issue

I had exactly same issue and i sent my device to service. They did some hardware fixing (it is written like that on service form) and it is working fine with 10.2.1.1925. My expectation was device exchange but they fixed it. It is STL100-1.

Android applications doesn't play nice to the camera.

Tried many OSs, they work fine until you get an android application like snapchat and IG.

When I ever I play a video on snapchat it says after camera can't start and video play stop working, you have to reboot.

Same goes with IG videos.


That's what I discovered so far.

Now running 10.2.1.2141 and using IGrann, Snap2chat and Whine.

Said goodbye to android applications and this issue is gone

My friend's z10 is stl100-1, have the same issue until now.
