I don't think BlackBerry actually made any commercials for the telly. Just these cool videos that are put on YouTube for people to find by surprise. That is the way to sell a device to the public; secret advertisements that you have to find on your own. Very cool.

Exactly that's why I put the post up, as am sure there's more good videos etc out there that I just have not come across. I missed out on the start of the game the BB10 commercial hide & seek game. I must get a free throw of the dice for finding this one at least ;-)

If they had aired some of the commercials I've seen on youtube I wonder how different things may have been now. As I personally have not seen one BlackBerry add on tv.

I've shown good youtube adds to peeps that I know and they have been impressed to the point were they want to take a look at my phone again.

The video above would have been much better than the way too vague commercial BlackBerry aired during the Super Bowl. Or even the commercial with Tame Impala playing in the background. Actually, you could probably put that Tame Impala track with the above commercial, and it would still work. Maybe speed it up a bit to match the music. But hey, that would not have taken much. BlackBerry did go with an award winning firm to make that Super Bowl commercial. However, the Guinness commercial that earned said firm so many awards did nothing for me. I did not get it. Well, I did; however, showing more of the actual device would have been better suited for BlackBerry's Super Bowl commercial. Alas, nothing can be done about that now.

In can only speak about the german marketing: there have been some full page ads in a well-known journal and some tv ads!

BUT: it wasn't even close to enough to catch potential buyers attention!
I'm also new to the platform (been with Android before) and I'm absolutely commited to to BlackBerry 10! It's by way the best OS I've seen for my lifetime!

Bottom line: the product is superb, quite the contrary are sales! So you've got to blame the marketing team!

The Super Bowl commercial would have been fine, but it needed to show the Z10 in action as well. Like show all that crazy stuff happening; however, make sure you show some of the things BlackBerry 10 can do as well. Or, have a separate commercial showing that. That commercial as is was not the best in getting folks excited for the Z10.
