    Hi,
Am planning to get the z30 and give my z10 to my dad. He basically don't use his phone for any other functions except to call etc. So I am wondering which leak is the best for battery performance.

I've been running hybrids mostly so I am not sure.

I just want a very stable one that will guarantee the best battery life. Doesn't matter much other wise.

    Thanks!

If your dad uses it mostly for phone calls, then simply disable the data services. The best battery saving feature.
In case the data service is needed, but it is not vital to receive the email in the second it reached the server, then turn off the 'push' option.
You might also change the 4G/3G to 2G (if option not blocked by the carrier).

I'm on .1767 and I must say that I'm impressed with battery life. To be honest I'm rather pleased with the entire build.

I'm very impressed with the battery of 10.2.0.1767. Without even having to give it much time to "settle". The only noticeable drain was when it was synching all my contacts from my email account and Facebook.

Sounds like 1767 is the way to go! Yeah I'm probably gonna switch hin down to 2G only. And then configure it to use wifi when necessary.. I doubt I will be able to teach him how to change to 3G for BBM voice!!

So excited to get my whole family on board BlackBerry!

I have setup 2 yahoo accounts, 1 hotmail & 1 Gmail. I get all my mail on one yahoo account & send mail thru gmail account. Will turning off push option for all accounts except incoming mail on the yahoo account extend battery life? Also turning off push for gmail account affect sending of mails?

I have set yahoo mails to 5 mins... yet I receive all mails in set of 10 and multiples only.....

Please guide. I am on Q10 OS 10.2.0.1767

Regarding yahoo push, there seem to be some kind of a problem when you google it. I don't use yahoo, so can't confirm.

As for your second question, "push" option means that email is being 'pushed' to your phone. So it has no influence on sending emails, and you can switch it off.

Have a try. Turn "push" off for one day, and see where it gets you

Be sure to check your browser if it has the functionality to download and open a File (such as a PDF). For some reason I was getting a "File does not exist" kind of error when trying to open a downloaded file. I know the file was on my phone since I could open it through file manager, but yeah. If you have this error, just load up the browser .bar from a previous build. (:
