I've been here a week and I'm convinced that the "I" stands for iPhone. It's capitalized as there are so many. Virtually every phone I've seen in this town is an iPhone. It's worse than in Canada or the US.

Outside of town there are a fair number of Android devices with iPhone accounting for less than half the phones.

I've yet to spot a z10 or q10.

BlackBerry has vanished from Amsterdam.. People look at my Z10 with confusion and some with excitement, but it never lasts long enough. It's Galaxy S3/S4 & iPhone over here..

I know that the "I" doesn't stand for iPhone, but it sure seems like it.

I've been in 4 European countries since the launch of the Z10, and Amsterdam is the only location I've been where the iPhone absolutely dominates. Elsewhere the iPhone is a minor player. I'm just extremely surprised how popular it is here, and I don't understand why.

There's a huge BlackBerry 10 billboard advertisement right outside Schiphol airport (at least there was 2 weeks ago when I was there.)

I've never seen another BB10 device in the wild besides my own, so didn't find Amsterdam any different from anywhere else. The only odd thing I noticed was that many locals seemed to have fold-up protector sleeves for their iPhones. Looked very strange when they talked on the phone, since the case dangled all the way down to their chests, making the phone look massively long.
