I've noticed lately that it takes between 6-10 seconds after I unlock my Z10 to unlock the work space. I unlock, go straight to hub to see the new email, and wait for the "work Space is Locked" message to clear. Is this normal? 6 seconds doesn't seem like a long time, but this is annoying, and hinders my ability to "keep moving". Z10STL100-3/10.2.0.1743

I see you're using a leaked OS. Did this issue start occuring when you loaded that on or was it there before?

Mine is longer, a good 15 to 20 seconds. I had this when the phone was on the official release too.

I can confirm we're experience this as well.

I've had users come up and show me a 20 second delay when unlocking their device when balance is managing the password (so you enter your password once and it unlocks the personal side, then should unlock the work side for anyone curious that isn't familiar with the issue)

We're running latest stock 10.1 given we're in production and I'm not going to run beta stuff for obvious reasons, even if 10.2 is starting to look fantastic.

I have seen this too at some customers. Seems dependent on the number of emails on the device.
I will try to ask a BB emplyee if he knows something about the issue.

Hm, strange. We have deploid 122 OS 10 devices and had never this issues. Somtimes it takes about a second or two, but never 20.

But interesting to read. I will talk to the users and ask for feedback. This must be a device issue, I don't think the device talks back to the BES before unlock, or does it?

We also reduced 'days to synchronize' setting on BES to 30 days instead of the no limit and it helps.

I receive thousands of messages a week (literally, about 4000) and i keep only 30 days. It takes mine about 3-5 seconds to unlock the work space to view in the HUB. If i set to unlimited it sync my entire mailbox, and has taken almost 30 seconds to unlock.

Remember, this data is encrypted and must be converted to plain text before it is shown. The more you have, the more time it will take.

Was the email data encrypted on my old 9900? I never experienced this with OS7 ... I wonder what they're doing differently in BB10 that introduces this issue? I did a wipe, enterprise activated again, and I'm still experiencing teh same problem. Email is set to 30 day sync.

By default? It would depend on your settings for your IT policy. Was content protection enabled on your 9900 device?

ALL work data is encrypted on BB10 now. It may or may not have been prior, and may not have been to the same level even when it was.

One thing we found when we changed the setting on sync days, was that it took a long time for the data to clear from the device. We had "no limit" set, and it killed our Q5's for users with busy mailboxes. When we changed to "30 days" it didn't immediately speed up the device as we thought, but when we checked the device data storage, it hadn't gone down (still over 6G out of 8Gb). For some users it took over a week to clear out the cached data, others we just wiped and re-activated - immediately losing over half the data store used.

I installed the official 10.2 yesterday, looks like there's an improvement, takes about half the time to unlock now, only a couple of seconds. Z10STL100-3/10.2.0.1791.

I had previously opened a case with BB tech support about this very issue and the setting that "edwintg" mentioned (synchronize setting to 30 days) was what BB recommended. I will also say that is does seem to be OS version dependent as I have noticed a difference in the delay (from almost no delay to about 3-4 seconds) with the different leaks that I have used. Currently running the 10.2.0 1803 on my Z10 and it's about 1 second.

I'm now on the newest leak 10.2.1.1055 and I can confirm it's getting worse! I do have it set to no limit. I wish they could give us more granular control over this. Like 30 days, 6 month, a year etc.

Anyone knows if there might be a fix soon in the future or maybe BES12? This has been an ongoing issue and frustrates a lot of users in my company.

It's not related to BES but the amount of emails on the device. Reduce the number and speed will improve.

Well it is BES related as my hotmail account has tons of emails and never have lag

Your Hotmail emails aren't being decrypted each time you view them. It's purely to do with how much work the phone must do each time you unlock the work space.

I have 30 days worth of emails synced (roughly 900) and 18000 contacts in my work space, and it can take 2-3 seconds to be available.
