My friend got an email from Rogers wireless stating that the z10 will no longer receive software updates. Is this true?!?? I love this phone but it would suck if it didn't update anymore.

I've heard no such thing but if the carriers wanted to pass up an opportunity to shill themselves wouldn't that be great! We could all have OTA updates like PlayBook skipping the middle man entirely..

This guy is not a friend. Get a new one. As others have stated, until you see it for yourself and can post a copy of said email (sanitized, of course), then I would say it is definitely false. In the forums world, you are "guilty" (or false) until proven "innocent" (or true).

I don't know why everyone is jumping to the conclusion that OP is lying.

I don't know if what he is saying is factual or not because OP has yet to provide proof, but why is OP's statement so farfetched? Rogers could be doing away with Blackberry Z10 as an end of life product if it doesn't do well.

If it's anything like OS 6 and OS 7 updates, Rogers might very well stop releasing updates, or at least being slow.
