Hi Folks,

is there an App to Backup and Restore the Word Substitution in BB10?
Every week is exactly the same sh**� After an OS Update, i can't restore my BB-Link Update. Because some App doesn't work correct after Restoring.
By the way� the only thing i need to restore is my Word Substitution. I'm annoyed every time I need to enter my Word Substitutions.
Do you have any suggestions or ideas for me?

Hi and welcome to CrackBerry. There used to be a couple of apps for OS7 but I have heard of nothing to help with OS10. It is very frustrating as I lost my entire word sub list when I migrated to my Z10 and I haven't bothered to use word sub again.

Hope someone posts with an answer for us!

It's astounding that there is no way to back up and restore word substitution short of doing a full restore through link. Major PITA.

Do you know if they support Bb PP? BlackBerry 10?

Regarding Word Substitution, there IS NO API to help 3rd party developers backup or restore this data. BlackBerry would have to build the system to do backup/restore into their software and BlackBerry Link.

It would be great if they would devote development resources to improving their own OS and core communications functionality versus spending money on marketing iOs and Android.

Complete insanity that this isn't backed up. How is that possible that it isn't and hasn't been addressed? I'm trying to get over from the 9930 to the Classic and it's a complete chore. To know that, on top of it, I'm going to have Autotext / Word Substitution issues is boggling my mind. I'm feeling like I may end up married to my 9930 for life....

I was pleasantly surprised when I used an Autoloader last week and that when I RESTORED my word-substitution texts were restored. But like others I don't trust BBLink to do the job so it would be nice if there were a way to backup and restore them separately. Or if there were a way to PRINT out the entire listing of them so that it would be easier to manually restore them.

I tested it and once u get everything onto the phone, it does get backed up. I also noticed that you can't even search your word library by starting to type the word, you have to scroll down to find it instead. Lastly, when entering new words, it defaults to "always use this capitalization" which I usually don't want, so it can be a pain to have to uncheck every time when you're entering all your words for the first time.
