    hi
    im returning to BBos7 after having a Z10 and a Q10...
i had the 9900 and the only downside for me was the lack of autofocus and battery life...
now i can get the 9900 or the 9720 for the same price, but im not sure wich to buy...
is the battery life of the 9720 much better then the 9900?
having a worse processor i should give up from the 9720 , or the processor is more then enough??
can someone give me some advice?

    thanks

If I had to get a BB7 phone right now I would get the 9900, based on the review that DJ Reyes gave. It's in the front page. Hang on, let me get that link.

theres no doubt that the 9900 is a better phone, but for me the battery life is very important (im a heavy user..) and having a bigger battery and a smaller proceSsor the 9720 could give more working hours..
is there anyone that had the two phones and could tell if the difference between the battery life of the 9720 and 9900 is really different?

Get a pocket charger for the 9900 then. Getting the 9720 over the 9900 is a waste of money if you can get either, the 9900 is by far the better hardware and should take any 7.x updates that RIM rolls out (which will be [pretty much] only maintenance releases). That 9720 isn't meant for people who can afford a 9900. Those people will take the worst phone simply because they cannot afford the better phone (like people taking a free iPhone instead of the latest revision that costs $200 on contract). Not even worth it to consider the Curve if you can get the Bold, IMHO. Battery Life is an easy issue to deal with these days.

Having owned both I can safely say that the 9720 easily outmuscles the 9900 in the battery department. I currently get approx two days out of mine although I only use UMA when i'm in the office and at home so that does help (when I had the 9900 I used wi-fi calling but also kept mobile network on) the 9900 would struggle to do 24 hours whereas the 9720 can do that on half a battery. For me processor/PPI aren't an issue as I carry a PlayBook at most times.

9900's screen is good for your eyes, and it have a faster CPU, this means it won't be slow down if you browsing high-resolution pictures

but if you want to sign a contract and get a phone for free, pick 9720

Do they both run the same OS version? Am actually here because my sister refuses to get a phone without a track pad and an end call button (-_-)!

She is one of those who refused to get a q10 no matter what!

I personally think that the battery life is better than my 9900, but you will be getting a lot more chequerboarding in the web browser due to the slower CPU. I also love that fact that for 140 you don't have to worry about cases, screen protectors and babying your phone like you have to with expensive phones! It's quite liberating actually and it adds to the enjoyment of using this phone as an actual phone and communication device. (No more washing my hands before I use my phone.)

very well said, for $140 it can be used as a real communication tool without the fear of babying it like I did with my previous 9900

    Hi there,

I can't believe we are even comparing the 9720 and 9900. This article says it all.

Just download Nobex Radio from BB World, upgrade to 7.1 or replace stock battery with quality Mugen 1500mah battery and your done for life.

BlackBerry 9720 vs RIM BlackBerry Bold 9900!

    God bless 9900/9930.

You don't have much of a choice ... all OS 7.1 and earlier devices except the 9720 have gone out of production so pretty soon you'll only be able to get a 9720.

If it were me, 9900 for sure. Although I haven't seen the 9720, it seems a little too plasticy for my taste. Just more power under the hood on the 9900 series. Good luck with your decision!

Go for the 9900 and buy a second battery from the CrackBerry Store with its own charger. Two batteries was enough to get me through the day

The 9720 has its own unique charms, mostly notably it's still being manufactured by BlackBerry (the 9900 isn't), it can be had much more cheaply and one or two new features designed for social media type users.

I have the Bold 9900 and the Q10... Bold is charged every 2 days (working with it, writing some pages on Docs To Go), whereas Q10 is charged every evening (using it mainly to E-Mail, surf the web, Calendar, Remember and CB-Forum)
