I'm glad they didn't release or announce anything yesterday. With what every media outlet going on about Apple, any news regarding BlackBerry would have been shunned. I can see the BGR thread now: "BlackBerry announces 10.2 release date - does anyone really care?

The 12th was the day they planned to announce the official release date, which is the 19th, 2 days before summers end, I thought blackberry would bring it right to the end, but 2 days before! Wow what an amazing early release, a whole 48 hours. You know how much I can get done in that time? Rather than waiting I'll be bbming all my friends with iPhone and Android. There could be a lot reasons. From a gamma ray burst that fried a part of the NOC to a monkey that stole a part of the source code.

I tend to think that they wanted to be sure that the app works flawlessly.
If they said end of summer, why not use that time window to ensure that the quality of X-BBM is convincing?

That's just my guess though and maybe some solar eruption is the real reason behind it.

Unless Im underestimating the devs Channels is not ready needs another month or late october release to be at the level of BB users taste.Especially 10 users.

Unless 10.2 comes out now and all devs focus on channels its not ready for primetime.

Seems like they can't get anything out in a timely manor. Should open up a Silicon Valley software branch as it seems the companies there hire people that can get the job done quicker and better the first time.
