Hey guys, I've found a folder called "android" in the misc. folder, while looking through my file manager.
Does anyone know what it is? And would it be safe to delete it? Cos its taking up 1GB of space, but there isn't anything much in the folders themselves..

I believe that It allows Java based sideloaded and converted Android applications to run on BB10.
Someone can always correct me if I am wrong.

I'm not sure because I never tried. Why do so?
I always assumed it was put there by BlackBerry for a reason.
Especially when I would say that maybe 70% of BBW applications are ports and not "Built For BlackBerry".

Anyway, within a thread here someone indicated that it cannot be deleted.

Hmm I guess my droid folders that I deleted were from my s3 since I had everything transferred from it to my q10.
I'll be leaving my folders alone now, no deleting....

The Android folder contains links to your shared data so that Android apps can access it, play music, display pictures, etc. Since they are links rather than the data itself it doesn't actually take up very much space.

Android folder is the place for file sharing for Android apps. Deleting the Android folder may result losing saved games or saved datas.

The Android folder is tied to the Android Player. It is the base location for Android apps (it would be the root folder on a regular Android device). Most Android apps will store their data in this folder/system. Settings, game saves, edited files, downloads, and so on, will default to these folders.

I would think that if you delete it, the next time the Android Player runs, it will create it again.

It's a data folder for some of your apps.

Apparently some of the items in that folder mirrors other files else where. The downloads folder is a good example, if you delete it from the Android folder, it'll delete it elsewhere.

So be careful, it's a system folder, so unless you're delete specific things, be careful.
