I listed my note 2 on Craigslist and someone offered me a Q10 I already have a Q but If I was going to trade I'd just sell the Q if it would bring in more cash than the note 2. I checked on eBay but the prices were all over the place so I couldn't really find a figure. So what do you guys think?

Rule of thumb... A person offering a straight up trade is rarely trying to give you a good deal.

In your case, he wants what you have, at the expense of you having to liquidate his trade. I'd venture a guess that you could unload the Note faster than the Q. And probably for more money.

How much cash would make it a deal?

It all depends on what you value. The more popular phone will be worth more money on the market. I'm sure you can guess which of these two is more popular than the other (Note 2 in case you can't). With the Note 3 coming out the Note 2 will decline in price slightly but I think it will still be worth more than a Q10.

really depends on the condition of the phone.

if you know your note is top notch keep the note

Q plus $150. See what the person says, he may try to bargain down or just accept it. Q10 won't be sold easily, people don't even want it for free lol

I always get a ball park figure from eBay. It isn't perfect, but it gives me an idea. Right now, the Note 2 sells a bit higher.

The Note 2 was $799 off contract. The premium is not just because of the larger screen, but (primarily) because of the Wacom digitizer. The Q10 was $599 off contract. We all know BB's are overpriced (unless you're a diehard), and of course there's the distinct possibility it will never see another update. So a Q10 is worth only about 5/8ths what the Note 2 is worth, and that's taking into account any devaluation because of the pending release (in a month and a half in the US) of the Note 3. That's how I'd play it.
