I have the BB 9790, BBOS 7.1 Bundle 2102 (v7.1.0.746)

It was given to me by work, so it's setup with BES and my Outlook. I created rules in Outlook (if I get emails from these people, mark them as read and move them to this folder)

This rule doesn't seem to be working on my BB as I still get a sound notification and an email notification icon on my phone. I'd like my phone to never go off when I get emails from these specific people.

Is this something that I can do with the Outlook rules? or is there a better way to handle this?

The rules need to be server side rules, not client side as the BES will process the email when it it is received on the server NOT when it is received on the client. By the sounds of things, it sounds like a issue with MS exchange or even possibly the client setup. Have you discussed this with your IT department?

I emailed IT about it - but when I went and reviewed the rule, I made some changes to the rule and got this message after I saved:

In case you can't open that link, it says:

'This rule is a client-only rule, and will process only when Outlook is running.'

How do I setup the rule on the server side? do I have to do it on BES/Exchange?
