I've done this reliably many times and now I hope someone else can confirm that it works for them. Here's what I do:

    1. Restart the phone
    2. I immediately open Taskmanager which I previously downloaded from BlackBerry World (the one made by amitgosh).
    3. At this point I see a blue progress bar since Taskmanager is an android port...this means the Android runtime is still loading.
    4. I scratch my arse while I wait for it to load.
    5. Bingo. No bar in any of my Android ports!

Above is a screenshot from Ghost Commander (another Android port I got from BlackBerry World). Notice the runtime version and notice there is no bar.

Note: this should be done each time the phone is restarted unless you want the bar there.

From bottom bezel, swipe up then to one side then back down. Kind of like an upside down U. That is the gesture to go back for all android ports.

Hhaha the black bar is there because of you!

You swipe 45 degrees to the left from the bottom bezel as far as I can remember. Or I could be wrong.

Menu is invoked by swiping down from the top bezel.

Have the Z10 and prefer the bar being there, more convenient for me. But the option should be there for those who wish to hide it.

I repeated your list from 1 to 4 but it did not work. Android bar still appear even in Task Manager app.
I'm on 10.2.0.1443 leak with unlocked runtime.

It is weird, there have been times when the bar will not show for me (prefer it that way), but I can't say that I know why-yet. I've noticed it with Google Maps 7.1 and other Android side loads.

    Will try your method.

Sigh, this does not work. There's a known intermittent bug where the bar disappears.

Disclaimer: I did not complete the 'scratch my arse' step as described. Not sure how important that is.

Darn I hope it would work on others. I may have done something else with the runtime such as disable Android Live Wallpapers, Bubbles, Black Hole, and PicoTTS using that app called Ghost Commander...
I didn't want to give too much details on this without knowing for sure.

Sad to hear its not working - hope somebody can find a workaround for this. I don't like the idea of losing screen real estate on my Q10 with my sideloaded apps.
