I have a red torch 9800 and want a new phone. either a torch 9810 or bold 9900. Would the 9810 even be a worthwhile buy from 9800. I have original battery and spare, external charger and case for 9800 which I could use on the 9810. I need a phone with good battery and reliable. Someone that has owned both help me please?

Given the OS and such, it really doesn't matter which one you get. It comes down to form factor and cost. Both the 9810 and 9900 are great devices.

I loved the 9900, probably the most attractive and beautiful phone I ever used.

I have a z10 now but always miss that 9900.

If battery life is of primary importance, I would recommend the 97xx series. Get the latest 97xx as the battery life is significantly better than the 98xx or 99xx.

The 9810 is a much better phone than the 9800 that I had... and I loved the slider design. Friends with 9810's risked me stealing their phones every time we met.

So, if you like the 9800, I'd go for the 9810 over a 9900.

If you're considering a bold 9900, you should look into the Q10 if it's in the budget. I couldn't go back to OS7 after BB10

I have owned all of them, and loved the slider for factor. I switched to the 9900 for the larger keyboard, but the bigger screen of the 9810 is very nice to have as well.

If you're generally happy with the 9800, the upgrade to the 9810 is good because you can reuse the accessories...that's what I did.

    God luck!

Thanks for all the replies. The BB10 devices are not in my budget. I do not want to go to a 97xx series because It would be for a battery move rather then an OS move. I just remembered I cant use my gold extended battery on OS 7.1, can I get it to work? Im thinking i will get the 9810 due to screen size and battery

Keep in mind that, if the camera is of any importance to you, the 9900 is known for issues with its EDOF camera - the 9810 should serve you better in that respect. Otherwise, both are pretty solid devices.

The 9900 is still an awesome phone, was the best BlackBerry I ever owned. I never used on of the sliders.
