After the mess they made with Daredevil, I'm not too sure he'd be a good fit. But he is an intelligent actor so he could pull of Bruce Wayne/Batman's more cerebral side. But, the story's going to inherently have a lot of fighting/action involved, which he's not exactly known best for (even though he has starred in several action movies.)

Hey, at least it's better than Orlando Bloom, right?

I don't see this movie going off well with Affleck as Batman. I'm not that keen on that particular comic anyway but I can't see him doing this role any justice. Tons of people on Twitter don't understand this either.

Well, although my choice would be Josh Brolin or Karl Urban (Judge Dredd), I'll give it a chance with Affleck since I'm open to the first chance. Remember how the world responded to the announcement that Henry Cavill will portray Superman ?

DC has (recently) done a good job at getting unlikely actors and making them a huge success. Tom Hardy as Bane and Heath Ledger as the Joker. Who knows, with guidance Ben Affleck could pull it off. He has the looks to be Wayne

I would have liked for them to have kept Bale. He was okay. Don't think he was anywhere near the best but acceptable and decent. I just would have liked him to have continued for the sake of consistency.

This news shows / proves one thing only: it doesn't matter who you are / what you can do, but whom you know. If BA & head-honcho of the studios share same ******, then they're pals. This equates to BA being able to play Batman. Oh, come on. Who's gonna play the Bat girl ? The Gyllenhaal girl ?
Regarding Bale, he, like Sean Connery & Pierce Brosnan, doesn't want to be remembered for a role only. He played Batman admirably with that weird accent of his.
As for Joker, i dare to say that Heath Ledger performance won't be matched - ever. Jack Nicholson seems funny in this role, if one looks retrospectively.

I'm thinking he will be better than most expect. When Michael Keaton was announced as the lead everyone thought that was a horrible choice. Now he's known as one of the best to play the role.
