Not sure why people haven't suggested this partnership.

Nokia gave up on Symbian and moved to Windows. Windows hasn't been what they were expecting... so why not assume a newer and better technology - something more refined then Android...

Think about it, Nokia has an incredible presence and following in Europe and Asia. Blackberry, although low, still has a market share in North America that Nokia could only dream of...

This is an interesting idea - but i believe that Nok does not have the where with all to purchase BBRY with Nokia's current valuation. Some good parts of this are the synergies in distribution and Nok's excellent Maps application. But, ultimately, BBRY needs a stronger strategic that has more synergies.

Again, put out there Amazon (proprietary content and huge payments potential) or perhaps some other in a similar fashion.

Nokia is in the middle of a 5 year agreement with Microsoft to manufacture and promote Windows Phone only. They receive $250 million per quarter from MS to do so.

Your dream of Nokia expanding their portfolio with BlackBerry 10 could only happen if Microsoft buys BlackBerry.

Nokia is not going to spend $10 billion dollars on a fellow struggling tech giant and forgo their $5 billion in guaranteed support from Microsoft.

Samsung should takeover BlackBerry to conquer the enterprise space once and for all. Keep android for consumer and BlackBerry for enterprise. BlackBerry os will sell MUCH better with Samsung hardware and marketing behind it.

Yes. And if Samsung did buy BB I suspect it would be for BES and some of the device control software for enterprise. They might use a device or two but I cant see them keeping the OS around. They don't need it.

Nokia just acquired 50% of joint venture with Siemens, Nokia Siemens Networks, now Nokia Solutions and Networks. Pretty sure, no ca$h and interest.

Nokia and BlackBerry is actually my dream team. Nokia is brilliant with their hardware but limited to quite an extent by WP and their slow updates. BlackBerry has proven with BB10 that they can update their OS quickly and with significant upgrades. BlackBerry understands 'social' with bbm and channels. Nokia has an expertise in location services.

BlackBerry builds secure, innovative and unique software and Nokia builds secure, beautiful and extremely durable hardware.

I highly doubt Nokia could buy BlackBerry in its current financial position but a joint venture would still be possible IF it wasn't for Microsoft's big stake in Nokia and their terms of agreement with each other. They already have some strategic partnership till 2014 or 2015 and by then it could be too late for this to actually happen.

Not exactly, Apple is still a potential big enterprise player. They have a big slice already. Buying BlackBerry with BES, BBM, secure worldwide network, security patents, etc. gives Samsung a potential deciding blow in that war. Select Samsung products are slowly creeping into government use but need to be managed by other MDM software like BES. Even then, from what I understand, they are not approved for the highest level of security for employees accessing classified data, servers and such. Whoever takes over BlackBerry has the security advantage, even if it is just for perception of security. As safe as Knox might be, it will take a long time for enterprise that NEEDS top notch security to completely trust anything running android.

How has Microsoft not met Nokia's expectations with Windows Phone? Yes, they are pushing Microsoft to get apps into Windows Store but that does not mean they aren't content. Windows Phone 8 has taken off very well. It's growth is extraordinary (something that BlackBerry cannot say about BB10) pushing it into 3rd place overall.

In the US BlackBerry still has 3rd place, but you need to look at the big picture. First of all, BlackBerry's accounts for BBOS and BB10. Second of all, WP's share has grown while BlackBerry's has declined significantly.

Nokia and Microsoft have a great partnership. It seems to work out for both of them. Most importantly, their partnership is appealing to consumers. WP8 is a fresh, great, modern OS and Nokia's hardware is colorful, modern, and looks cool. It goes perfectly with the OS. I don't think it would be a smart move at all for Nokia to adopt BB10.

I don't think people here understand. Nokia will not buy a company that has a damaged brand And reputation. And also MS is is playing long term with WP. And everybody knows that it has always came on top in the long run. and also WP stands a much better chance than BB10 in the market
