Is there a better way of attaching a file (or an image) without having to hide the keyboard first since attach icon is way down at the bottom? It is consistent with the GUI layout but I find it a bit cumbersome. It would be nice if these options (icons) at the bottom float up and stay on top of the keyboard. This way I don't have to hide the keyboard to get to them.

Open up your pictures app, hold down, press share and to BBM.
Doing It from the pictures app allows you to see exactly what you want.

Double swipe down the keyboard's fairly quick though.

Thanks for the reply. That's one way to do it. However, there are times when I'm chatting and typing and then would like to attach a file. This is when I have to hide the on-screen keyboard to get to these options down below.

Yes, you do have to hide the keyboard to attach.

This is kind of a workaround, press the smiley with a plus, it'll hide your keyboard and open that menu that has the attach button. After attaching it pops back up your keyboard for you. It the quickest way you can do it. (that I know of)

Just touch the chat text, not where your active cursor is, just in the conversation window and the keyboard goes away without the long press on the space bar or two finger swipe.
