So I tried to add 2 new subs today r->are and u->you. When I entered the first one it was great but when I input the second one the first substituted stopped working although both were in the list. Then I entered a 3rd one and the first 2 no longer worked. So it seems like only the last manual entered word is recognized. I tried re-booting the phone but thta didn't help. Running on the newest 1047 leak and haven't tried before so can someone with 10.1 try this? Am I doing something wrong?

Confirmed for me as well in 10.2.0.1047. This also is a bug in the Z10. Moving to the Leaked/Beta OS section as it applies to more than just the Q.

Not only that, if a word substitution follows a period, the entire word is capitalized. Another bug.

I've tested these cases but couldn't reproduce the issue. Word substitution works as expected. I'm also running .1047 on a Z10.

My annoyance is that when I added a question mark before 1047, I got it moved back to the end of the last word. Now it stays where typed which is one space after the word. Not the right way to do it.

I tried manually adding a %b? In word substitution, but it didn't work.

Why does the comma still work?

Yep me too. Worked fine on 10.1.0.2011 but not on this leak.

Try adding word (1 new sub) then immediatelly swipe from bottom to put the words Substitution page to active frame and then close it.
works for me

Thanks for the info Ricky. We had also found that it looks like you can reboot to save changes made. It's a little wonky though.

I have created about 100 word substitution entries, but now none of them work. All the settings are switched "on" -- "show predictions" and "word substitutions". Is there some limit on the number of entries?

Well, last week I added about 10 words to the dictionary and 5-7 words to the word substitution list. I just checked now and they're all gone...and wonder if it has something to do with the issue I had yesterday where my Z10 ate all the e-mail in two accounts I have...

I just added the same words back to the dictionary and the word sub list and will see, but word sub works for me.

Running 10.2.0.1047

EDIT: It seems that on reboot, many of the Word substitution entries I create get blown away. That would explain why I didn't see the ones I created last week and when created again moments ago, no longer appear now since the reboot just now. Dictionary kept the words this time though...

Yes, I saved the new entry, then immediately swiped and closed. Still no luck. I've rebooted as well, but none of the entries work.

My company's computer chief has been talking to BlackBerry and it seems there is a QUOTA of exactly 270 word substitution entries. If you add #271, they all stop working.. What genius thought of that? Alienate your users by wrecking one of BlackBerry's few advantages over other smartphones. It will supposedly be fixed in a future software release. Meanwhile, I have gone back to my old Blackberry Curve.
