    Hi guys,

I have to constantly keep enabling the USB Mass Storage mode when I want to drag and drop file on my PC. Not sure if everyone is having to do this or its just me. Its been the same thing on several different OS versions. Im only asking cause its annoying and the legacy devices stayed enabled.

    Thanks all.

Nope. Not happening to me. Sorry I can't help you.
When I plug in it says connected to computer.

But most times I just use BT transfer.

I've had the problem if I leave usb connection set to automatic. I use Ubuntu and if I set usb connection to windows then I have no problem.

Are you sure you're not restarting the device? When that happens, I have to reenable it.

I'll try this and keep an eye on the restarting as well.

Are you talking about the mass storage mode that can be enabled from settings? That mode is designed to turn off as soon as you unplug usb. It does this so that the phone can access the card contents.

So changing the auto connect option to Windows for me seems to help. Also when I restart for whatever reason it turns off which is reasonable. Thanks guys

I have this issue too. Restarts might be the cause. Anyone else have that as well?

Did you make sure that it's not your cable? Do you have to enable it when you plug in or does it disable itself when still plugged? If you have to enable it when you plug in, that's the way it should be so people can't steal the data off of your device.

This is yet another BlackBerry "feature" that irritates me endlessly.

Not because you need to enable the connection when you plug into USB, which is reasonable, but that it takes so damned many steps to do it.

    1) Swipe UP to close whatever app is open fullscreen
    2) Swipe DOWN to get to the Settings Button
    3) Tap Settings Button
    4) Swipe DOWN til you get to Storage and Access
    5) Click Storage and Access
    6) Swipe DOWN til you finally reach the very, very bottom and find the switch to enable USB Mass Storage
    7) Click the switch
    8) Click the confirmation pop up.

    And of course,

    9) Realize that you can only access the SD Card, not the device storage.
