Sounds like you'll need to downgrade for the moment if Skype is currently a must-have. More than just this app isn't working properly on the newly leaked 10.2.

It's a known bug that Skype is working on .1047 running on a Z, but not on the Q.

Yeah - I thought skype was working as it actually logged in. I tried to use it this evening and it just froze - needed a battery pull. It just flakes out now. Shame as I am finding the 10.2 leak to be pretty good otherwise.

I'm not sure, but I think the 1047 build has the new android runtime. Perhaps the appworld skype build needs updating, or something?

This has been reported since day 1, and solutions have been posted since day 1. Q10 won't run the BBW skype
But I'll be nice and post them again
    1. IF you want to be lazy and just reinstall another OS back to 10.1, then go for it, it will fix you problem
    2. IF you want to work hard and learn/try the debug method, you can get the latest 4.0.0.22082 version working on your phone
DON'T ask me how to do debug. That's why there is a search function for this forum

I know the repetition sucks but indeed we are a community and appreciate each others help. I looked thru a lot of the forums and couldn't find anything about skype.

    Agreed.

And I was hoping to not have to start sideloading apps again either. So I held off.

Well updated android do your stuff...

Had this problem on my Z10 and just sideloaded .810 Android runtime from MeccaEl's post and everything works well now.

Though that might be different on a Q10.

Not that different on the Q10. I installed .810 runtime and sideloaded Skype 4.0.0.22082. Everything's fine.

    Hi,

I used the debug tokens method and Skype now installs correctly and runs but there's a further problem. I cannot login as the password entry box is obscured by the options to login using a MS login or to create a new login. Nothing I have tried will give me access to the password box, so I cannot login to Skype. Any ideas as to how I can fix this please?

You should try with the BlackBerry World Skype version. It should work fine.

In fact, the password entry box is not completely obscured, but you will have to proceed subtly. If you have big fingers, let your girlfriend or your kid do it for you .
Here are screenshots showing how to scroll (nb: my system is in French. "Pseudo Skype" stands for "ID" and "Mot de passe" means "Password"):

    Q10- Skype crashes after 10.2, any help-img_20131005.png

And scroll again to access the "Connexion" button or simply press your keyboard "enter" key. You should be logged in then.

    Hope I could help.

Are you upgrading to 1725 Meekzz? You really should give 1323 a fair shot-most stable leak so far and Skype works perfectly using the 2-sideload method. Does not crash and battery life is exceptional.
