Could also be leaked photos of a new slider. Not really sure at this point. But it is a nice way to start the morning and the week.

    In Africa only.

Makes sense though because blackberry owns the market in question.

I think the article said south Africa specifically.

......until someone leaks some stupid fake story about BBerry selling out to Google or the Q10 will crack if you swipe it too much......it doesn't really matter, it will never be allowed to succeed,

Any positive move only signals the dark forces to move......

You could buy on the Canadian TSE where the markets are closed today. Tomorrow morning should be hot. Friday's close was $9.27 while NY was $8.92. At the moment, Nasdaq is at $9.63. The US market is almost always lower than the Canadian Market so, depending on today's close it should show a big jump tomorrow morning - I hope.

Volume is decent. Either someone knows something or (more likely) its the typical play, plump and dump.

It is strange how this is happening, both the magnitude and the fact that it has been steadily climbing all day. Usually when rumours pop up and a spike occurs the gains are lost. None of the rumours today seem to justify such an upward move. Of course we'll take it! Tomorrow should be interesting with both markets open.

Some are speculating this spike is due to a short squeeze. But, who knows? It's quite strange.

    Barrons:
"Shares of BlackBerry (BBRY) are up 55 cents, or 6%, at $9.45. Briefing.com reports that the jump has to do with chatter about sales of the companys Q10″ smartphone released in May."

    The Street:
"Shares of BlackBerry (BBRY_) jumped 7.51% to $9.59 following rumors about its upcoming smartphone release.

Press shots of the phone, known as the BlackBerry A10, were apparently leaked online over the weekend, with an official tutorial for the phone revealing that the phone's name had been changed to the BlackBerry Z30. The phone, tipped as the follow-up to the disappointing BlackBerry Z10, features a larger, 5-inch OLED screen and a new slider handset known as the BlackBerry Z15.

In addition, the Canadian electronics company will launch BBM for Android and iOS sometime "this summer.""

The link above, these guys sell unlocked phones, and Q10 is their top selling behind three different Samsung G4 models and ahead of the HTC One. This is only one seller, but they sell everything.

So the Q10 is selling, this is what people were waiting for...the bad thing is that if the Q10 is what's working and not the Z10, who's to say that the larger screen is going to be well received?

Unfortunate in their graphic ad they describe it as having an Android OS. They get it right in their specs though
The Q10 sports a 1.5GHz processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, which is expandable with a microSD slot. The 3.1-inch touchscreen has 330ppi, 720 x 720 display.
