So... I'm a leak virgin.. wondering if I should take the leap and install the leak or not?

How long does it take to install a leak?

EDIT: I've already installed the leak now and I'm very happy with it!
Thought of letting you guys know since everyone is still commenting about me going for it.

takes about 10 minutes to install the leak maybe BUT you have to set the device up again like when you bought it or try to restore a backup.

1047 was the first destructive leak I've installed. Took me about 4 hours total including download, backup, loader, and restore. Backup and restoring being the most time consuming. Well worth it though.

Yeah go for it, I took me awhile to get a few things like instagram and the new features working but overall it's a really good upgrade and really fast. You just research the forums for some tips

People have been complaining a lot lately concerning dead Z10s producing the dreaded RLoD (Red Light of Death) flashes.

I wouldn't be too gung ho on installing leaks especially if your phone has been flawless from day 1.

Wow serious? Your comment is the first time I've heard of a bricked Z10 from this or any of the various leaks.

Don't upgrade to a leak if you:
    - can wait for the official release
    - don't want extra trouble
    - don't want to brick your phone

As for me, upgrading to a leak is a no-no. I have my reasons

Just do a full backup via BlackBerry Link before installing a leak and you should be OK. As your name suggests you should "keep on moving!" and not "recline in motion"

And never say no because I for once have said no to leaks!

Far as I can tell from trusted users this leak is a real wonder. Been away from the PC or this would already be installed maybe later today.

One real wonder of BlackBerry is changing the OS. If anything goes awry the option to begin again or to revert always exists. To many 'Nanny no-nos' had one bad experience and then want to be experts on loading an OS.

Always read the forums. If too many issues reconsider. Otherwise go for the golden goose I say.

I would advise the opposite. Link is awful and is causing people issues.
Leaks are great if you are willing to start from scratch on your phone

LOL I'm not reclining in motion, I just don't feel like updating to a non-official release. Official means stable, and a leak is still "under testing". Now, how can you keep on moving if you risk bricking your device?

By the way, I'm not against leaks. It's nice to know what to expect on the official release. Keep it up!

In a word....Yes. is an excellent build and I haven't experienced any problems. The battery life is stellar. Should only take you 10-15 minutes tops.

Installation of all BB10 leaks is rather quick. What takes time is restoring backups, syncing up stuff (with computer, social, media services, etc). If you don't mind smartphone downtime and becoming a beta-tester, go for it !
