So I recently picked up a MacBook Pro and decided to use Parallels to try and run the latest 10.2 Autoloader.

I haven't used a leak in a while so I forgot how long the LED on my Z10 is supposed to stay green and how long my Command window should say "Uploading RAM Image" and the bar be at 100.

    Anybody have a general idea?

Also, the virtual machine is showing that the USB connection isn't sending any data and the CPU doesn't seem to be showing any activity (visual indicators). Is this normal?

It doesn't work on Virtual Machines or Parallels or Wine.

    I am working on a cross-platform autoloader.

Nevermind. Someone else explained how to do it on Mac OSX.
You need to uninstall Link on Mac OSX and install Link on Windows.

    Hi,

I tried loading OS 10.2 using autoloaders on two different 64 Bit Machines (Win 7 Ultimate and Home Premium) - but it got stuck on the Uploading RAM thingy.

When I used my mate's desktop (a 32 Bit OS - Win 7 Home Premium) - it sailed through.

The problem might be the java libraries or something (could be anything that the autoloader uses - just a random example with java) - that would be 64 Bit and might be causing the holdup due to some incompatibility.

    Hope this helps.
Check if ur virtual OS is a 64 Bit or a 32 Bit one.

    Cheers.

    Sid

I use my MacBook Pro and Windows under Parallels to install new leaks on my Q10. All works fine. Only one issue - you should connect you BlackBerry to Parallels before installing leak, turn off BlackBerry, unplug it, run autoloader, and plug BB.

So, you should show to your MacBook the proper connection of your BB before running autoloader: not to Mac OS but to Windows under Parallels.

I was running 10.8 with Windows 7 in Parallels. It was a hit or miss for me. I've gotten two leaks to successfully work for me, the others - just hang at "uploading RAM image". I updated to 10.9 and Parallels stopped detecting my BlackBerry all together.

Since then, I got Parallels9, and Windows 8.1 Preview (both 64-bit), and my BB is again recognized in Parallels, but still gets stuck on "uploading RAM image.".

What is the secret here? I don't recall doing any steps differently from when it worked to didn't work. Thoughts?

I think that your Mac connects BlackBerry not to Windows but to Mac OS by default. Uninstall BlackBerry Link in Mac OS if it is installed and connect BlackBerry to Windows before running Autoloader, turn off BB, unplug BlackBerry from cable, run autoloader, plug BlackBerry to cable and process will start.

Parallels and VM are very tricky to properly configure with some USB apps. Use Bootcamp and you won't have the problem at all.
