I'd like to know what everyone is getting on their Z10 battery. I know there have been a million posts, but really no thread to aggregate this data into 1 place.

I'm disappointed with the battery but I did manage to change a few settings to improve the duration somewhat. The first day I was getting less than 5 hours, but I feel like turning off the lock screen gestures might have DRASTICALLY improved it.

As it stands, I'm getting between 12 hours - 18 hours with moderate usage. For me, coming from my iPhone 4, I definately see the battery life as a downgrade and it's 1 area that I'm just not thrilled about. 12 hours really isn't enough.

Anyway, maybe we can aggregate the data and put it in template format like the following:

    Battery life: 12 - 18 hours
    Network: LTE/4G on
    Bluetooth: On
    Lock screen gestures: Off
    Wifi: On when available
    Screen brightness: Around 20%

Anything else you think should be added? Let me know!

WiFi might be part of what is hurting your battery life. My wife gets way better battery life on LTE than I do on WiFi. I had the same experience with other devices, and even on WiFi as much as I can, I use WAY more LTE data than the wife dose. So I have to attribute some of my battery life to hunting for WiFi.

Your iphone has a worse battery and have only heard negative feedback from most iphone users maybe you got more life because you hardly used it!! Haha. I usually get 6-8 hours of heavy use, 10-14 moderate, 16-24 with light moderate use.

Seriously depends on your service, location, and WiFi signal. Remember when on WiFi if it drops it will be hunting for LTE/3G/etc. Real life, on the train, plugged in, I got worse charge using the train WiFi than I would have using home WiFi. Remember any radio turned on "hunts" WiFi traditionally uses less juice but depends on the signal provider for real. The reason WiFi is usually better is because you aren't bouncing from tower to tower hunting, also varies with carrier and location etc when not on WiFi. If you are stable in a good cell location you could get the same or better battery life than a bad, weak WiFi location. One more example, I walk across my office and I drop outta WiFi range, the radio is still on hunting though so it can reconnect when back in WiFi range (my office is really small too).

For me personally, 8 hours of moderate to heavy use to get it down to 40%.
Gestures on, 3 emails on push, HSPA+ only becuase carrier isn't that great. 50% brightness with auto because I love the screen.

I've never actually had my phone die on me, it's only got past 10% maybe 5 times ever. I honestly have no problem with the battery, it doesn't get I. The way but I would appreciate better timea.

I am usually down below 50 % by 1 pm. Kinda irritating to have to charge my phone after maybe only 2 phone calls and a few BBM throughout the morning. I deal with it though. The phone is awesome!

You're complaining about 12-18 hours??!! I am lucky to get 10.

Screen brightness all the way down
Wifi and Bluetooth are always off unless I am using it (never use Bluetooth)
    Lock screen gestures are on

EDIT: I would like to clarify that I would be lucky to get 10 hours on light use.

I am a text heavy person trained on 8900.

So 2G is my main driver and Z10 gives me 36 to 40 hours between charges. Also screen brightness around 30%.

There is no trick or secret to getting battery life with the Z10. The battery is too small and unless you want to shut off every feature of the phone battery life is going to suffer. Why Blackberry chose to put such a small battery in the phone baffles me, but whatever I guess.

    I know a few people who have a Z10
Like myself and NO ONE gets good battery life. I use my phone a decent amount (emails a few phone calls) and it is off the charger by 6 and nearly dead by 10. Too bad because its a nice device but Blackberry blew It with the battery.

I am still sitting at 45%...took the phone off the charger at 7am. 176 emails today, 45 text messages, and almost 4 hours worth of phone calls....with the occasional Web browsing (maybe an hour worth). Running latest AT&T 10.1 os.

I noticed a huge difference with turning the lock screen gestures off.

    Man I love this phone!

Not to call you as a fibber but can you show your usage? Just curious as that is amazing battery life.

I'm with you!! I barely use it during the day because I have a company phone I use as well. Still my battery drain is ridiculous. If I had to use it as a work phone, I'd have to keep it on a charger. That is with everything turns off. I just haven't tried to use a different battery. Don't think I should have to.

I am a heavy user, and I have NEVER had a phone with a battery life as bad as the Z10. With my Bold 9930 and my Torch 9850 I would consistently get 12 hours or more. Even with my Droid Razr I could get about the same. The Z10 struggles. If I want it to last a whole day, I would have to barely touch it.

Used to be 6 hrs with moderate use. (5 months)

Since upgrade to OS. 4633 it lasts 30-36 hrs with the same usage.

Keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't fall back to its old ways.

No power saving tips being used now.

I dropped some major cash to get away from T Mobile and get this phone for my wife and I. Don't get me wrong, I love this phone, just absolutely despise this battery life! I feel your pain.

Are you using your device? Almost every device post os5 has mediocre battery life. My Z10 would last 5-6 hours with light /medium use.

Weekdays: at work, 2G (signal is scarce at work's location), minimal game time, minimal text messages and BBM, about 14+ hours of battery life from 100% until it turns off.

Weekends: at home, H+, moderate game time (mainly on Asphalt 7: Heat and N.O.V.A. 3), moderate text messages and BBM, heavy Web browsing, about 5-6 hours of battery life from 100% until it turns off (and the phone's too damn hot).

I get 8 to 12 hours with moderate use with the blue tooth on all the time. I average 50 emails a day and a lot of texts with a lot of data usage every day. I take my phone off the charger at 5 in the morning and most of the time I can make it til 9pm with my normal use
