    I was wondering...

I REALLY hate the dark theme being on the Text Messages app and the BBM app, but I don't really mind it in the Calendar, or anywhere else. Would there be a way to switch it off? Or is there a theme out there? SOMETHING. Please. If you hate it too, let me know!

    Hi welcome to CB!

I don't think the Dark theme has the ability to switch on/off (for now atleast). It's more for conserving battery life etc as OLED uses less power to display "black" as opposed to white...

Not an option unfortunately. Though I personally prefer the dark theme.

After the latest update the calendar for me has switch to the white background on the q10? Did this happen to you guys aswell? Is there a way to go back to the dark theme for the calendar?
    Thank you.

Calendar was switched to the light theme following many complaints regarding reading the text in the app.

No way to go back unless you downgrade OS and no way to switch.

I'm happy with the decision with the Calendar and don't mind the dark theme when it's used.

Silly question, if the text was too hard to read on the dark theme in the calendar, wouldn't it be as equally hard to read everywhere else?

This would be a shame if all future upgrades force a white theme on the calendar. I love it dark themed as is!
I don't see why this couldn't be fixed simply by providing options for people.

Maybe it'll be fixed in 10.2.

Was the change of calendar theme colour in the change log?

If I had known I wouldn't have updated from an OS I was happy with. I could've lived without the next email swipe for a while.

In retrospect it's best to read views of others before jumping on a new OS asap but I get excited.

I hate it too. I'm considering a move to the q5 because it has the white theme! Blackberry should just allow us in os 10.2 to switch between the light and dark theme

BlackBerry should just give us the option. Black or white theme. Done deal. Let people choose instead of being forced upon.

They should stop what theme we should have on what app and start giving us the choice in settings menu to switch light or dark theme. What a waste of man hours for nothing changing useless things.

No, cause the text in the calendar app is on a yellow/green window, which make reading white letters hard on dark screen.

I think they should give us all an option.

In some apps, it's way too dull

At least make everyone happy? Just my two-cents worth but otherwise am fine with the dark theme

How does it work over at blackberry? Do they really do a survey before they impliment these changes or do they just unilaterally make a change on the fly?

My understanding is they were selling the black theme idea originally. My understanding is a lot of people like it (particularly people with black Q10s wanting to stick with the theme). Then they go and change it overnight like this without the option to change back.

    Im confused.

    Exactly.

The functional stuff they dont do anything about (like email being able to delete old conversations in replies or setting options). They go much around with useless stuff which many people like. We probably wont see another update for a long time too so people are stuck with bad decisions.

Like someone said above, there are multiple colors of font on the calendar...dark purple, green, blue, etc were all hard to see
