Personally, I agree with the latter! I see no reason for BlackBerry to keep users credentials when using a Z10. We know that BlackBerry stores users credentials for BIS due to the push aspect so there is no logical sense in this...

What do you guys think?

This topic angers a lot of people so it is hard to get a straight answer.

The problem here is the fact that BlackBerry seem to be holding your credentials on their servers/database and using that to make a connection back to your mail server. The guy seems to have proof that it is in fact doing this, not sure why he would be lying.

The device should only be making a direct connection to the mail server. There is no reason for BlackBerry to get involved here. Unless they temporarily need it for initial configuration purposes and it's discarded afterwards? However it still doesn't look good and BlackBerry need to issue a statement about this before it spirals out of control...

It only does this in "easy" mode, so there has to be a good explanation. I prefer this over having my WLAN credentials uncrypted in a Google database ;-)
