Enable Wifi Calling and some newer apps for 10.2.0.483
- After installing the leaked OS 10.2.0.483 with the Dev OS 10.2.0.341 radio as advised by Kris in http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...-4-5-a-826866/, I realized I didn't have WiFi Calling on T-Mobile anymore. This is important to me, as my parents house has almost no reception with T-Mobile, just spotty Edge, which sucked when I was over there until the WiFi Calling Leaks came out.
Thanks to Kris for the leak, and Darcy/Sacha for making tools to make this so easy.
I flashed the Radio from 10.1.0.4543, and it seems to be working OK.
Also, after extracting all the apps from both autoloaders, I noticed that 10.1.0.4543 has some updated apps. So I've also updated a zip of those.
I HAVE NOT TESTED THESE TO ENSURE THEY WORK!
Included:
com.foursquare.blackberry-10.1.4.6050.bar

"Update" is based solely on the version number as listed in the manifest, and may or may not be a better/newer version, and may or may not work.
SocialConnect apps were updated, but do not work and thus are not included.
Instructions:
Run the exe for the STL 10.1 Radio just like any autoloader. Since it's just a radio, it's not a destructive install.
Sideload the updated apps if you want to try them.
As always, by clicking either of these links you agree that anything that goes wrong is solely your fault.

If you use Bridge let me know if the bridge apps work - I assume they do but you never know, and my PlayBook really only gets use for app testing these days.07-09-13 01:35 PMLike 0 -
- Personally I found that, for my uses, WiFi calling is not ready for primetime. Too many issues with spotty voicemail and SMS/MMS. I have decent signal, so I'm ok with not having it.
I believe several of the versions are actually newer in 10.2.0.483 though. I personally delete foursquare and retaildemoshim, since I neither use nor need them. I don't have a PB so no real need for the updated Bridge files (though to be honest, the bridge fileset is not even included in 10.2.0.483).
AppWorld is working just fine for me, I sideloaded the x.54 version from the 10.1.0.45xx series.
I also don't care to add bloat with the tutorials and howto stuff. Since we're talking about hybrids and OS tinkering, it's safe to assume I can handle Essential Gestures.
I also don't use VAD, so I can't check whether the 10.1 version is newer, but it looks to me like the search bar from 483 is newer (10.2.0.14).
Aside from those files, the only other versions that jumped out at me were the socialconnect bars. All four are newer in the 10.1.0.45xx fileset.
Just my observations and quirky preferences.07-09-13 02:16 PMLike 0 -
WiFi calling is definitely working though, I shut my radio off and made a call to check.
Seems to be, although there is an action bar across the bottom of the app - not sure if that's a new "feature" or not. Unfortunately you can't seem to hide it.07-09-13 03:01 PMLike 0 -

- Not meant to be hidden due to complaints of people not figuring out the android port gestures

- All of my trials today, related to my Z-10 100-3 and the 10.2.0.483 radio ended with the 10.1.0.4543 radio and the tmo wifi bar file. Turning wifi then off allows me to make calls over the 4g network until I can figure this hole thing out or we get a new OS to play with. Still could not restore but I am saving over a gig of space having lost the file. Probably old mms messages that I just didn't delete.07-10-13 05:05 PMLike 0

- Still down.
Being that I am in Canada, using T-mobile service on my Q10, I am completely fine never utilizing carrier spectrum frequencies, and solely using Wifi!
Thanks for your work, and please let us know when the files are again accessible?
