I got the Z10 just last night after a long long debate on If I would be comfortable typing on glass. But liking it so far. The predictive keyboard is amazing. The learning curve is slow with some minor things in the new OS but I think it will come by.

The main reason for my post is that I am unable to properly use Gmail through imap on my new Z10, something that came flawlessly with my older BlackBerry phones.
I verified the settings online and also with Gmail help settings. All info has been keyed in exactly as desired, still not working.

Imap.gmail.com port 993
Ssl yes
Smtp.gmail.com 465
Ssl yes

Password verified

But, doesn't work. Shows error and no sync seems to happen.

Please help.

Is there an issue as I use 2 factor authentication on my Gmail?
But still, I correctly had keyed in the application specific password that was generated.

Have 2 gmail accounts on my Z10 set up was easy and works like a charm. Nor techy at all....so I would be of no help to you.

I have two different Gmail accounts on my Z10 and they work fine. I just added the accounts as regular email accounts and didn't do anything 'advanced' with the settings. Everything syncs the way it's supposed to.

I am new, so I am not sure how much I can help. I check my Gmail settings and they are the same as yours. These settings are the defaults actually.

I also use 2-Step Authentication. Gmail works (well with the compatibility issues)

Delete = Archive
BB 10 email app has no support for labels
Google does not support folders

Had to delete Gmail account on my Z10 then re entered info, then everything worked fine. Used default settings.

I tried again guys. Thanks for your responses.
This time, followed an advise from an older crackberry forum post on the same issue.

The guy suggested keying in the password generated through application specific means to both imap and Smtp.gmail.com fields - through advanced setup.
Did that, doesn't work still.

Might need more time and help to fix this.

My Gmail log shows handshakes with my BlackBerry thru bbimap, but no mails fetched.
