What a disappointment. I didn't buy my PlayBook only because of expecting to get BB10, but the problem is that since BB10 there's nearly no app development for the PlayBook anymore. I always look with envy at all these new shiny apps being released for BB10
This makes the PB essentially as dead as HP's TouchPad. The TouchPad is going to receive an Android emulator if PIC and OpenMobile get ACL to work. Then I can use the same (Android) apps on both devices
Oh well. Now i have to decide if my next phone is going to be running IOS or windows mobile. Cant support a company that doesnt care about its customers.
did people really expect BB10 would come to Playbook? lol... It's BlackBerry, they have 11 engineers that can barely do only one thing at a time (fragmented OS10 update releases), and their slogan is "coming soon later this year", get real people.
I'm curious if they'll end up releasing OS 3.0
If so, update the android runtime, and everything will be ok
If that is the case they should have said but........ As it is I'm sure they pizzed off every pb owner except true fanboys who will spin it as some kind of positive
I've got three PB's (16, 32, and 64). I'm already using them less and less but hoped at least for an upgrade to the browser since that is what I used it mainly for).
Now I think I'll just load it up with kids movies and pop it in one of the Otterbox cases and give it to the kids and find a tablet that will actually get some use.
Unfortunately, that might be an iPad mini as I've owned two Android tablets (Galaxy Tab and Nexus 7) and both left me unimpressed resulting in their return.
