There is no biometric scanner on the Z10, therefore no fingerprint unlock. Capacitive touchscreen cannot take the place of a biometric sensor.

So how does it work on Android devices? Is it just a fake app using time instead of biometric scanning?

EDIT: Android app is bogus and doesn't read fingerprints...albeit it's rumoured to be coming to the iPHONE...for real.

It's nothing new, I used to have it on my ipaq, hp had it first, but the reality is that there are cheaper and better alternatives. Adding it on the phone just allows for more things to break and adds to the complexity in design and consumption for one feature that can be addressed in other manners...

There was I think a Motorola Android phone that had a fingerprint sensor. I wonder how fast it is... cause I am not sure if it's really useful.

Not going to happen. Needs a change in hardware, and it's been shown that fingerprint scanning isn't as secure as one would hope.

They should have a small needle on the back of the phone to take a blood sample for DNA authentication
