Both z10s have to be "awake", meaning the screen lit up and on a home screen etc.

Also make sure nfc is enabled on both phones and the battery cover is pressed on all the way.

Do you happen to have cases on one or the other. If there is thicker cases involved, they will not be able to connect.

I got it to work between my z10 and my kids' S4 and Q10. Above posters are right : make sure phones are awake. And nfc needs to be on of course.

I've got it to work. Make sure the NFC settings are correct then just open the file and tap, you don't even have to press share

I have been able to send pictures, videos, files and Web pages without issue between 4 Z10s.

If you have NFC on on both devices and (preferably) no case, then just go to whatever device has the file you want to share, open the file, tap the three dots for the overflow menu and select share then NFC as the method to share with. Lastly it illustrates what to do (tap and hold the two devives back to back and wait for it to vibrate (takes about 2 seconds at most). Then go ti the recipient device and accept the transfer and the transfer progress will display.

    Hope that helps.

I've noticed no decrease in battery life.

Yeah I leave it on on my phone and my wife's curve. Have them set to automatically transfer to each other, don't even have to hit share, just back to back and away it goes. No noticeable battery life difference.

I think you have to have recipient on your contact list, correct me if I'm wrong

Not so sure of that. I transferred photos yesterday to my kids' brand new (as in minutes old) phones and they didn't have my contact info on their phones yet. I had their contact info but I don't think it is phone specific. I don't think contacts has anything to do with it.

My daughter and I have both used the NFC transfer and it works easily. Very cool. And we both have cases on our phones.

The Z10 comes with nfc enabled. So it should work unless you have turned it off or put your phone into airplane mode.
